I have several issues that by themselves most of them are not huge. But a combination of things is beginning to concern me.
1, My dogs collar was lost. Bot Dogtopia did reimburse us for the replacement.
2, My dogs harness was installed improperly causing two cuts to his chest.
3, When we started using Dogtopia, we were told how well our dogs did and what a pleasure they were. Then once I was there to pick up my two dogs, they were in different rooms. When I asked why, I was told that they have a history of ganging up on other dogs. That was the first time I had heard anything about it.
4, We boarded our two dogs last weekend. Thursday-Sunday. When I picked them up they came home and were very lethargic. They are highly treat motivated. But I couldn't even get them interested in treats. It took several hours before they started acting like themselves. Even when they are worn out from play at the dog park, they will still come running for treats. This make me think they were sedated without my permission.

Grooming services are great! Staff are very communicative and kind. Doggie day care is new for my pups, but the staff have kept me updated as the day goes on.

They love our dogs

My pup has genetic anxiety. She even takes medication. I explained this to staff. They told me they would make it easier for her to adjust and keep a close eye on her. My dog panted heavily the whole time, 8:30 to 2:30 ( I observed this through web cam) she also kept going to the door and tried to get the person in the room's attention. When I picked her up she looked awful, was still panting heavily, was covered in her drool, was so thirsty. My point in writing this is these are all flags that she was in panic mode. She could have been taken out of the room for a break. I called when I got home and left a message to discuss her day more. The next day I was called and spoke on the phone about this, I was told they charge for individual attention. The same girl said maybe it would be best to allow her to attend some puppy sessions. She told me the time, day, and price and I was happy with this. My pup was very sick as a baby and missed many milestones. While she is a year old, she is small. I was told there were dogs in the class that were much bigger than her like a 7 month old husky and if she could become familiar with the pups and I was there it would make it much easier for her to transition. Later that day I was texted and told the manager said she couldn't do that and coming in earlier during the week would be her only option....and we know how that went because that is exactly what I did this past Thursday. Dogtopia is run like a structured business, it is clean, the prices are good, staff is nice...but only for dogs without diagnosed, medicated anxiety disorder. I think a puppy preschool (under a year) with owner is great but also add puppy kindergarten or first timers classes with owners being phased out in smll intervals should be something to be considered.
