What I like about the services that Dogtopia offers is the special care my dog gets from the staff each time he visits them. When I tell him that it’s doggy daycare day he goes berserk with excitement. I have the utmost respect and trust in them. 🐾

First of all my dogs love going there. They are so excited! If we are gone for a long vacation they act like they are thinking “darn, you mean we have to leave?” 🤣
Second thing about the service is Quinn the manager. She is amazing. Excellent communication, listens to any concern or question & addresses them immediately then asks for feedback on her response. Plus she is such a great leader & role model for the staff. She is always stepping in to help & to greet the dogs & ensures a positive experience for the pups & their humans. We Love Dogtopia 💕

While understanding that our dog is a high energy dog, the things discussed with management and plans made were never followed through on. The staff as a whole is under trained for being a doggie daycare. Just because you love dogs doesn’t mean you should work with them. There were major inconsistencies with what each “coach” allowed and it confused our dog as to why they do something in the morning and not in the afternoon. The other thing was because he was a bigger dog he would always be pulled when something happened not because he caused or started an issue but because he was big. Watching the cameras it seems like he was being targeted by the coaches.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We know how much Moose means to your family, and we recognize how disappointing and frustrating it was to learn that we could no longer safely accommodate him in daycare. Decisions like this are never made lightly, particularly when we have spent considerable time getting to know and care about Moose.
I do want to provide some additional context because our decision regarding Moose was not based on his size, nor was he removed from play simply because he was the larger dog involved in an interaction.
Over time, we observed that Moose was having increasing difficulty regulating his excitement and arousal within the daycare environment. This was particularly apparent around crating, transitions and periods of rest. Because we wanted to give Moose every reasonable opportunity to remain successful in daycare, our team tried several different approaches with him. These included adjusting the frequency and length of his breaks, changing where he rested, providing rest outside of the playroom environment and modifying his daycare schedule.
Unfortunately, despite these adjustments, Moose's behavior continued to escalate. He became increasingly reactive during transitions and when being moved into a crate or suite, including repeated nipping and biting behaviors directed toward team members. Ultimately, a team member was injured during one of these interactions. At that point, we could no longer reasonably ask our Canine Coaches to continue managing behavior that presented an increasing risk of injury.
I also understand your concern that different team members may have responded differently to Moose. Dogs experiencing a high level of arousal can present differently throughout the day and from one interaction to another, and our team members must respond to the behavior they are seeing in that moment. That can sometimes look inconsistent from the outside, particularly when viewing portions of the day through the webcam. Our goal, however, was consistently to help Moose regulate his excitement and remain safely in the playroom whenever possible.
Our Canine Coaches receive training before independently managing a playroom, and they are also expected to recognize when a dog's behavior is exceeding what can safely or appropriately be managed in an open-play daycare environment. Daycare is simply not the right environment for every dog at every stage of life, and recognizing that is an important part of responsible canine care.
We certainly do not view Moose as a "bad dog." He is a large, energetic dog who was struggling significantly with some of the management requirements of a group daycare environment, particularly transitions and confinement. Continuing to place him in situations where he was repeatedly becoming this distressed and reactive would not have been fair to Moose, the other dogs in our care or the team members responsible for everyone's safety.
I am truly sorry that your experience ended on a disappointing note. We cared about Moose and genuinely wanted the adjustments we made to help him succeed. Ultimately, however, we had to make the difficult decision that we believed was safest for him and for our team.

The staff's compassion, professionalism, and amiable demeanor distinguish Dogtopia as a premier dog care facility. The premises are expansive and meticulously maintained, making it my preferred choice for the care of my pet.
Very courteous and prompt service from the manager during onboarding process. Owner had a conversation with me at my dog's evaluation appointment; this gave me confidence in the facility. Easy to use interface for online scheduling. Webcams available much of the time so I can check in on my dog when she is there. All staff are very welcoming and efficient.
