During Pre-certification the representative was insistent that I pay the full estimate or would not be able to maintain schedule for the procedure. I paid $1,497 in advance as requested only to find out that my insurance paid in full, and I owed nothing out of pocket. I also found out that BSW Frisco Medical Center does their own billing and not part of the BSW Central DFW billing. As a result, I had to call the business office who is not calling me back about getting my overpayment refunded. I paid via my Flexible Spending account who is also demanding me to reimburse the account because the EOB shows it was not a valid payment. I will most likely avoid using this facility in the future to avoid such a situation again. The actual service was excellent, but so is BSW of Plano which I have never had issues with being billed in advance of a procedure.
No wait, friendly and attentive staff. Doctor and nurse had nice bedside manners. Was in and out in a few hours and felt cared for. Thank you!
While I was at the facility, I was treated professionally. However, on my original surgery date, I felt that there was a breakdown in the communication from the hospital and my doctors office.
That morning, we received a call 30 minutes before my scheduled arrival time alerting us that there’s a power issue at the hospital and my surgery was temporarily delayed and/or cancelled and to wait for another call back. After about an hour and a half we received another call alerting us that some doctors are resuming their surgeries but are running behind and others are cancelling. That as long as I hadn’t eaten anything, we were still able to move forward with the procedure.
As we were walking out the door, I received another call alerting us that, in fact, my doctor had cancelled all of his appointments for that day. In which, I then ate breakfast since my surgery had been cancelled.
20 minutes later, we received another call from the hospital telling me to come in for my surgery. Not only was I experiencing the stress of going into surgery but now I was also dealing with the disappointment that now we had to reschedule the operation for another date and the time and energy I have to then reschedule for work.
I was very dissatisfied with the level of miscommunication as it had a stressful impact on my life.
Also, when I spoke with the payment department, prior to my operation, I was told that I had to pay in full; otherwise it would go to collections. I felt that she was aggressive and threatening when we had that conversation.
I called once again and got another person on the line; they said that it was incorrect information and I can setup a payment plan.

For a surgical procedure, this was an excellent experience from start to finish. Friendly efficient and thoroughly professional throughout. Every person performed their roles brilliantly. If I need to have surgery here again, I would eagerly look forward to it rather than see it as an ordeal to endure.
The facility was amazing, and the staff was even better! Everyone we encountered was the friendliest, most professional person we have ever encountered at a facility. They treat the patient with the upmost respect and are truly caring. They also keep family members informed every step of the way. I will try to use this establishment for every health care need - thanks so much!
