The customer service I received from the repair shop was excellent. I noticed I needed additional repairs after a tune up. They charged me only for parts and did the additional labor at no extra cost. in fact, the bike had to go back a third to get it behaving how I liked it, and they were not happy until I was happy.
I didn’t feel like I was overcharged. It was great that they just did what needed to be done to get my bike working again vs try to upsell me on things. Greatly appreciated!

Brought in a bike after a sandy day with concerns over crunchy noise. The technician said that since this doesn't fall under the one free year of service, but it's still a new bike that I bought from Helen's he would charge me half of the service cost.
Came to pick the bike up on Sunday to find out it got a complete drivetrain service (which I didn't ask for, it only needed a wash and relube which I've had done at Helen's before without an issue) and the price will be $80.
After I asked another technician the price for drivetrain cleaning it turned out it's in fact $65 and not $80. The technician also mentioned that in cases like this Helens might charge half the price but when I later asked if I can pay half of $65 he said I cannot.
Overall a very confusing and shady situation, I feel like I was duped into a service which I didn't need—my bike was clean and the only issue was sand in chain and cassette. Then I for some reason was expected to pay $80 which isn't even the price for this service. And then Helen's refused to honor the 50% offer that two (!) technicians mentioned. Top all that with a rather passive aggressive serviceman and I don't think I'll be coming back to Helens, sorry guys. I tried my best to love you but this ain't right.
The score is 3/10 because the drivetrain cleaning was done well even though I didn't ask for it.

When purchasing two bicycles and accessories at over $1,600 cost, don’t charge the customer for a simple rear bike rack installation.
