Hello, I had researched a new carbon bike for my daughter, specifically a Trek Domane SL5 Gen4, Blue Sage, 58CM which as you might suspect is a difficult item to find. My daughter lives in Aspen, CO while I live in Massachusetts. After contacting multiple bike shops across the country most did not ship bikes. [local pickup only] Then I found Helen's bicycles in Santa Monica, CA. An email from CEO Jay Wolf said "yes we would be happy to ship". That lead me to Monty Smith one of Helen's associates that spent more time than I deserved patiently answering all of my questions and also suggesting the company that they use to ship bikes. [Bike Flights] This has been one of the most professional transactions I've ever had and I wholeheartedly endorse this company. I'm 4,000 miles from them and my daughter is 1,000 miles but they might just as well have been in my home town. My gravel bike tires were filled with Slime and with high temperature my puncture spewed slime and wouldn’t seal.
I stopped at Helen’s on my drive home from my ride. The next morning they called and said I could pick it up. They had cleaned out the SLIME and installed new silks tube and replaced bent stem.
Wiped down my frame besides!

Your shop does not seem interested in my entry-level strand cruiser business. I bought 2 bikes from you, but everything else in the shop is $1500 and up (way up...) I brought my bike in to get a flat repaired. I was the only customer in the store on a Fri morning and there were 5 employees working. The 2 mechanics were busy and the other 3 people were all standing around doing nothing. I had to (very uncomfortably) plead with you to replace my tube. It should never be this way. I had to replace my seat post and went to hermosa cyclery instead. They REALLY wanted my business and we're so happy to help. My next bike purchase will be there - probably an expensive ebike. I wish that it could have been you... excellent customer service is worth so much to me and you did not offer it to me.
From bikes to apparel to accessories and maintenance/repairs, Helen’s is my number one all-time favorite bike shop.always. I’ve been a loyal customer since 1989! No other bike shop in the LA area comes close to Helen’s as far as I’m concerned.

Called twice during business hours and no one picked up the phone. The front of the store seems understaffed. Everyone was nice!
Cost. Two new tires for $185 seems pretty expensive. Service was good after an initial snafu in getting my repair into the queue after I checked in.

Cameron in Santa Monica was incredible. He listened to what I needed, showed us options that were perfect for what we were looking for and was patient as my children tried out a few options.
He was also incredibly helpful on the phone when I called earlier with some questions.
I would highly recommend Helen's and specifically Cameron to anyone looking for a bike.
