Quality and quantity of inventory
I bought three bikes from Helen’s in the last two years, including a Trek Checkpoint carbon gravel bike, and two Trek Domane carbon road bikes purchased in January and May 2023 (because sadly, the first one got stolen). Despite my having spent well over $16,000 on all these bikes, a store manager yesterday refused to credit me $36 for a phone mount because it had been over 30 days since I bought it. He insisted that it could only be store credit because of “policy” even when I asked for a courtesy, and he acted like he was doing me a favor even doing the store credit at all. That is the opposite of good customer appreciation and service. I will note, though, that a young bike mechanic gave me excellent service when I first walked in. He helped make sure my back wheel and handlebars were properly tightened (I had just shipped the bike in a flight bag for the first time) and showed me the torque wrench I needed. He certainly gave excellent service.
