labor rate pricing.
I went in for some minor repairs/adjustments. I purchased 2 tires and a kick stand.
Everything had a labor charge attached. I'm not saying not to charge for labor but there should be one price. I paid $80 in just labor alone. Then to top it off i asked for a bag to carry my tires and was charged an extra $5. for the bag. Service was excellent Polices terrible.
Great service from First name removed
Friendly and knowledgable people take the time to help. Don't try to upsell or oversell you. Good selection of items.
The whole process was very inconvenient and there wasn't any real follow through on your end. I had to call mutliple times regarding delays. It seemed like no one was looking after the work order, different people different conflicting responses.
It didn't give the impressions that there was any organization in place. The initial time frame given was off by more than a month and a half with no effort to honor it whatsoever.
Not worth coming back.
Took the time to place me with the proper bike. Love my new bike an excellent fit for me!
Everyone was incredibly helpful.
Friendly helpful and timely service
The team was so helpful and patient! Michael helped me make a plan for a series of fixes to my bike (which works better for my budget, to spread out the cost), and everyone in the shop was so friendly and welcoming!
Very fast and attentive
Great service, communication & quickly done. Thanks
Friendly, welcoming, helpful. Staff knowledgeable about products and cycling in general.
Helpful service
Good quality service!
we were happy with the attention to service while we were in the shop, however we weren't given any information about the quick release on my daughter's new bike. It wasn't until we were at the car that we realized that it was different than other bikes we've had and we could not release the front wheel. we went back to the shop and asked about it, and they told us... but they did not tell us to not use the hand break while the wheel was detached, nor did they give us any shims (or even mention them) to put in the disc break pad to hold the gap. needless to say, when we got home, we were unable to re-attach the front wheel to the bike. We live close to a Trek shop, and we ended up taking the bike to them - they reset the front wheel for us and provided us with shims for when the wheels are removed from the bike - they also moved the front break line because it was threaded on the inside of the fork. All that said, our experience at habitat was fine, but we didn't know how much we didn't know until we were gone - and then we needed another bike shop to fix things and inform us. it was particularly frustrating because the salesman we worked with even made the point to tell us he used to ride the same model bike that we bought... and I told him directly that I was unfamiliar with hydraulic breaks, and he still didn't inform us. We'll be going to Trek for any follow-up needs with this bike. it's easier to trust them.
Needed a rear light in a pinch for the sunset joyride from Vanderbilt. Was able to consider options at different price points. Staff kindly unboxed for me so I didn’t have to fumble. Luckily had enough charge to get me home safely.
Quick service. Quality work. Good advice
Super-fast and super-cheap axle replacement! It’s been *years* since I’ve said that about *anything* in NYC!
I felt they understood what I wanted done and were able to deliver on their promises
The work to help you get the perfect bike. They listen to what you need
I stopped by after work because my bike was making a noise. The mechanic was friendly, diagnosed the issue, fixed it and I was on my way quickly. There are shops in NYC that try to sell you things you won’t need or claim the issue is bigger that it actually is, but not Bicycle Habitat. They get my vote for best shop in NYC.
Lovely and knowledgeable support from the sales person.
Josh and Ryan spent a lot of time helping me to decide on the right bike among their large inventory . They were very knowledgeable and steered me to a great bike that was perfect for me. Couldn’t be happier with Bicycle Habitat.
Phone conversation regarding my approval of the work order that was emailed to me was not recorded, so the initial date for the work to be completed was not honored.
I had a flat and damaged tire, and it was replaced with an affordable alternative in 10 minutes. Excellent service.
Greatly improved staff at the store.
Superb customer service! Efficient work! A true neighborhood gem. They care of you, for real!
The employee assumed I was a delivery driver when I told them my explicit use of equipment needed. Out of the 3 people I talked to only one gave me honest advice and solutions. I left feeling very wrong and unsatisfied when I walked out of the store, and when I walked out of another location. It appears employees are just there to upsell you and don't genuinely care for your needs or active solutions, or any other sense of community you receive from local bike shops. Also, the basket I was sold did not fit as instructed /designed and required extensive troubleshooting. I did go to the store because of a more exstensive selection, which has opened me up to new upgrade opportunities.
Super friendly and helpful staff
Mike was super informative and patient in answering my questions and helping me pick out a bike that suits my needs! An overall great experience.

Friendly staff with lots of expertise. Prices are kinda high sometimes!
