What do you like about our products and services?

I love everything about Bicycle Habitat: the friendly and knowledgable people who work there, how communicative everyone is when I leave my bike for repair, how eager everyone is to serve and please, how passionate everyone is about bikes, and your fair prices. Trek told me I had to buy a new bike. You guys told me I should repair my beloved old Trek. I will be forever grateful for that.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I went with a broken air gasket and expected to just have that fixed - maybe one tire replacement, as I did buy the bike used. A tire replacement was suggested, fine. I asked about the back tire - which looked fine to me and also worked fine. He did suggest I replace that as well, so that was fine. Unexpected and very expensive but fine. He said it would be 30min and he’d text when he was done.

We went next door for a drink and I had a missed called from an unknown number and didnt think anything of it as he said he would text. After 45 minutes we walk back and he hadn’t even started because he had called me to tell me my break lines were bad and also needed replacing for an additional large and unexpected amount of money. I told him I didnt want them fixed and I cant afford it - they work fine enough for how I use the bike.

At this point I just feel stupid for even letting him sell me two new tires vs. just getting the air gasket replaced. LOTS of upselling and VERY expensive. There was no honestly or “you dont need this right now, but come back in a few months and we’ll fix it then” - just a money suck.

I’ll keep to my bike guy on 14th street near my office. $15 for a replacement gasket, no upselling and very very quick and kind.

I brought in a Brompton to be serviced. they are pop of the line in service, they explained what they fixed with a good amount of detail. They also have a friendly attitude which goes a long way.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I was quoted a different price and situation than I ended up receiving. The bike I was originally quoted was given away to another rental customer by accident, so I was given a more expensive bike. I totally understand accidents happen, but I was then charged for 1/3 of the bike cost versus 1/2, which is what I was quoted. There wasn't much understanding of the situation from my perspective, just the reiteration that I would be on the hook for the full cost of the more expensive bike (in spite of no terms of rental or agreement to clarify what might jeopardize my deposit). I think the haze of the situation made it so that there wasn't an offer for a helmet or bell like the website suggested, but maybe that is not a part of the service anymore.

The staff appeared knowledgeable and friendly, and the bike was great, so I have no problem purchasing from the store in the future, but I wouldn't redo or recommend the rental element unless there's slightly more structure to protect both the store and the patron. Thank you!

I had an excellent experience at Bicycle Habitat. Not only did I buy my bike here, but the service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff conducted a thorough bike fit, walking me through every step to make sure everything was perfect for my needs. They also guided me in choosing the right upgrades to enhance my ride. I’m very satisfied with my purchase and the overall service, and I highly recommend this shop to anyone in the market for a new bike or professional advice.

Top notch technicians in a nice laid back atmosphere. I feel like a valued customer with even the smallest of needs or repair services. I’ve also purchased bikes (3!) and they’ve all been solid. I’m really happy they opened up this shop near me.
