Helpful, nice and cool! Best tire tube replacement I’ve gotten in a while.
Friendly staff and good products !
Responsive, friendly, and reasonably priced service!
Fantastic experience! Super professional and awesome with kids. We worked with John and Edison built our kid’s first bike. There is a reason five people recommended this store to us.
The people! Always very pleasant, helpful, professional and do a great job with my bike.
I appreciate the attentiveness of the staff at my local Bicycle Habitat location. It doesn't ever take long after stepping in the store for a staff member to check in with me.
Although I had to cancel my order after the fact, Justine was awesome to deal with. She helped me with all my questions and also recommended additional items that I would and did need for the new bike. She was very professional and personable. Thank you!!
Friendly
It was fine -- tho a surcharge for an e-bike flat tire felt a bit excessive.
Friendly, helpful, professional, willing to address and solve your issues.
They were really supportive with a request for servicing my electric Brompton the day of! I appreciate their flexibility and quick turnaround. Everyone was accommodating and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
It is more of a general observation on the cleanliness and organization of the stores. Open food on the counters. Tools lying around unorganized. When I asked for a receipt, the printed receipt was covered in red marks indicating the paper roll is almost empty, when asking to get a clean receipt (the roll paper had to be replaced anyone) I got an attitude for creating an inconvenience despite the fact being a paying customer. It was later in the day and energy was maybe running low on the service person, but I was rather treaded like a burden instead of a valued customer.
Lastly, I asked for description what tasks and repairs where executed as part of the warranty, it was promised to be emailed. That email hasn’t arrived yet. Here my email Email address removed

BEST BIKE SHOP IN TOWN
thank you for the quick flat change
Service is prompt, friendly, and incredibly high quality
I feel very lucky to live so close to Brooklyn Habitat! Every time I go in the shop, everyone is friendly and helpful. As a woman, I have felt condescended to at other bike shops but have never felt anything other than respect from everyone I speak to there. And I have to add that I've never felt ripped off either or pressured to buy anything or have work done that is unnecessary.
everything! BH is the absolute best.

Great service!
I like the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the service.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had a bad experience with Bicycle Habitat in Park Slope (5th Avenue), Brooklyn, NY.
I brought my bicycle to the store on Sunday (3/23/25) asking to check out the front gear since it was not engaging. I also asked them to check the rear gears because, although it is working, it was not working smoothly; and also asked them to "mount" a new tape on my handlebar.
Two days later, I received a work order in which it was suggested to change brake pads front an rear, new chain, and a new cassette, for a total of $364.xx.
I was very surprised, particularly with the brakes because I have hardly used the bike and did not report any problems with the brakes. In any case, I replied politely telling them that my budget was very "tight" at the moment, to just fix the front gear cable to the best of their abilities, and to mount the tape on my handlebar.
It took another 3 days to have the work "complete" and that is only after I asked them to have the bike back by Saturday. Unfortunately, the work was not "satisfactory" at 100%:
a) they adjusted the front gear cable and must have made some adjustments to the rear gear cable as well because now it works much better than before.
b) they mounted the new tape on my handlebar - I had a small wire cable for my electric horn that run outside of the old handlebar tape because it was easier to remove if I need to change its position or for maintenance. - Instead of calling me and ask me if I wanted this cable to be outside or covered by the new tape, they decided on their own to cover it and now, if I decide to change the position of my horn or for any maintenance, i will have to remove the handlebar taping!
c) I had a small ring bell positioned in such a way that I could ring it without removing my hands from the handlebar. They had to remove it, of course, to install the new taping, but they put it back totally wrong.
d) They bled my rear disk brakes and never put it back in a working order (in the same state I gave my bike almost a week earlier). Whey did they do that?!?
When I picked up my bike on Friday evening I did not realized that my rear brakes were bled because it is not what I asked them to do. I only found that out the next day when I went for a ride.
At that point, being furious, I just took my bike to another bike shop.
I will never go back to Bicycle Habitat again and will never give a good recommendation to any of my friends. I would rather take my bike to a store 10 miles away and go home via subway than to return to your store in Park Slope!
"Success is in the details" - I do not know who said that, but I am sure he/she was someone who had a similar experience!
Justine was extremely knowledgable and immensely helpful in finding me a great bike with a toddler seat. They had it assembled and ready to role in less than hour so I could take my daughter to the park. Truly a family shop. - Brett from Chelsea
