Grand Design makes a very good product. Dave really tried to help in the beginning, but Kyle closed the deal for us. Thanks to you both
The answering service is horrible. When you call you never speak to anyone and then play phone tag back and forth. Horrible experience
Love our camper, Ray in the service department is very helpful.
Good value.
We recently purchased a used travel trailer from Alpin Haus in Amsterdam. Our sales person was Heather. We were very impressed with her knowledge of product and willingness to help us make our decision. All of the professionals at Alpin Haus were extremely helpful and able to answer our many questions. Everything was taken care of in a professional and timely manner. The entire experience from selection to delivery took about one week. The RV that was advertised on line was actually there. No one tried to upsell or high pressure us into buying more than we needed. If you are in the market for an RV, this is a great place to start your search.
The walk-through was a bit rushed. If you could provide a short checklist that the new owner could use it would be very helpful. Otherwise, a great experience
I had a very good experience with My sales people. Jake, Heather and my very special friend Denise at the Amsterdam, NY location. Even though it took a while to get my travel trailer, when it came in I was able to go look at it before they did their inspection. After that, it was only a matter of days before I could do my walk through. John, that did my walkthrough was AMAZING!!! He explained everything and even took extra efforts to show me things that required taking screws out and crawling on the floor. I left with my trailer COMPLETELY confident that I could handle it all by myself.
I believe that the quality of purchasing, and learning about a new purchase has improved greatly over the years. I would definitely go back.

Be clearer about 3rd party add-ins.
The sales part of our camper was top notch and the follow through with our salesperson is top notch. I couldn’t say more positive things about Brian. The first time we had work done, Under warranty, was amazing everything was as expected. Fast forward a year later, we brought our camper in for the warranty forever service and long story short got it back 2 1/2 weeks later. We were supposed to have one tire packed under warranty and get the camper back ASAP after they found a problem with the grease. Then, after we finally got a hold of them, it was no longer under warranty we had to pack all four tires to make it worthwhile for $350 and the appointment was a week later. We have now missed two weekends with our camper. I contacted my sales person who went above and beyond and made “things right” and the discussion went back to it is now under warranty and you don’t owe $350. Fast forward to our actual appointment and We couldn’t get there during office hours so, when we picked our camper up the keys were supposed to be in a spot as well as the paperwork, but they were not. Now they are being sent via mail ? because it was a mistake. It might have just been circumstances, I don’t think anything was intentional, but we have lost trust in the service side of Alpine haus.
Very professional and personal. They know my RV history and explain service required very clearly
The folks at Alpin Haus are down-to-earth, honest, and do everything possible to make certain you're happy with your RV and know how it works....and not just when you pick it up. We've called/visited a couple of time with questions and there is never any hesitation to help us, not with one single person. I think that's it, everyone there really likes and understands RVs and want to make sure you love and share as much knowledge as they can about your camper. We were between two places when it came to purchasing our RV. We went with Alpin because of the service program. It was a bit more but everything about dealing with them has reinforced that we made the right decision.
Arrangements were made to pickup our new motorhome on a Friday at noon. Got there and the motorhome was not cleaned or ready to go. Refused delivery and WASTED A DAY. Set it up to take delivery the following Friday and was promised $500 credit in the parts department. Picked it up the next Friday, no parts credit. Got it home and the right rear jack was leaking hydraulic fluid all over my driveway and was unable to maintain the vehicle in a level position. Also, when the right front slide out is extended it hangs so low that the basement doors cannot be opened and the tire pressure monitors are set on the high side to the cold minimum tire pressure so they throw warning alerts within the first 5 minutes of driving. Made an appointment for the slide to be adjusted and the leaking jack to be addressed. Was told the jack wasn't leaking and there was no adjustment on the slide and that if I wanted these things corrected I should take a road trip to the service center in Red Bay Alabama where it was made. Also, tech said the tire pressure monitors were a Freightliner issue and I would need to find a Freightliner dealer to get them reset. Another WASTED DAY. Ended up calling the manufacturer who set me up with a factory recommended service center, not related to this dealer in any way, for warranty service at the end of June.
Dealer "service" is a misnomer, they made no reasonable attempt to correct any of the issues. Sales experience was circa 1970's. It's 2021 people, up your game!
The service department is excellent and very professional!
Easy to communicate and get quick response from service tech when you have the running issues.
Fast and friendly.
When calling the service dept someone needs to answer the phone then like it once was. Hoping to get a call back the same day is not the most optimal way to do business. I had to drive to the Amsterdam location to get my needs resolved. I finally had to get my question answered on YouTube
Your team is a good one don’t let not answering the phone make them look bad.
Service department was fast and courteous. Great communication.
The service tech is very friendly and knowledgeable. Does a wonderful job
The ease of going to see and tour the RV’s is second to none. The variety of styles and options you guys have is awesome. From the minute I called and spoke to Charlie he was a huge help. Answering all my questions (first time buyer here) and never made me feel like a burden. When my job unexpectedly moved me it was a scramble to get my housing figured out. The staff at the Port Jervis location were amazing. Dan was such an amazing help showing me around and giving me tips and tricks for my camper. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience through the whole process. Thank you all so very much for everything you did 🙂🙂
Very bad communication with the service, you have to call many times for someone to call you back.
Great customer service, communication and overall super easy and pleasant to deal with.
The prep fee is almost double that of your competitors. I would’ve liked to have see that the unit had been run though to make sure all components worked properly for that price. Kitchen faucet was inoperative and awning was missing a component.
Additionally, I expected the mold and mildew to have been cleaned out of the bunk area.
A refund of the 1000$ prep fee or a portion of it would’ve made me feel better about this experience.
I asked for this and submitted photos but was denied.
I’d recommend giving the technicians more time to prep the RVs. They seemed very rushed.
I was happy with the service and replacement of parts under the forever warranty program but the two times my appointment was changed (the second time I almost wasn't informed about the change) have made me question why they were changed. But the replacement of my black water holding tank ( that is the result of an Alpin Haus wiinterizing goof )causes me to again like the service. But I wish they could get service tecks back so appointments could return to a more normal waiting time to get.
Very happy with sale and service!!!
Friendly attitudes. Fast service.
Glad I chose Alpin Haus over competitors period! Too much to say
The installation of my trailer hitch was done promptly and professionally. I highly recommend Alpin Haus. The dedication of their employees is quite evident.
You sold me a camper with a tire that had a outside patch on it. Which I didn't know that the tire had a patch on it. The patch came off, by the time I got home it was flat. I call you about it and you said to use my tire and wheel coverage service which I purchase. You told me to take it to Warren tire center, that they will cover it.
So I took the tire to Warren tire center, and they said (why did they sell you this camper with that tire, that had a patch on it). The tire service center said the tire need to be replaced. So the tire was replaced. The bill was $134.93. My tire and wheel coverage policy company said they will only pay $117.62. They said they don't pay for taxes and the disposal of the tire. So I had to pay the difference, which was $17.31.
In the tire and wheel policy, it said they cover mounting, balancing, valve stem, and taxes.
So I will not be giving a very good recommendation. After all the money I spent there, you should of replace the tire for me with no hassel. Now I had to use $117.62 out of my policy which cover $10,000 for 5 years of service.
I should had not have to use my tire and wheel policy on this. You knew how to take advantage of first time RV buyer. Thank alot.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. They are willing to go the extra mile to make sure your RV is in good shape.
