The best part of the YMCA in Trumbull, CT (Lakewood) is the free child care that is provided along with the membership so my wife and I get the chance to workout together. So we can stay healthy and strong for our children. God knows we need the energy. 😂

time for older adult classes earlier in the day.
We signed up for The Y to have childcare for our daughter while we work out at the gym. We've been very happy with your morning childcare staff; however, we don't feel confident leaving our daughter with the evening team. The three times we have left her in the evenings, your staff seemed very apprehensive and nervous around a baby - one team member didn't even appear to know how to properly hold a baby when we handed her to them. Every time we've brought her, a team member has come to interrupt our workout less than 10 minutes later because our baby was upset. of course we are happy to soothe her and step away from the gym if she is fussing, but we wish the staff took a little more care in calming her down before coming to get us.
I have been a member at multiple Y's and worked in two different branches as well as summer camps over the years, and I am a huge fan of the organization! We are generally pleased with this facility and appreciate the gym and equipment available. We hope to use the pool soon, as well. As parents, however, we want to feel confident that the people we are leaving our child with are trained and comfortable with the responsibility. Please consider additional training on babies and childcare for the staff in your childwatch center. Thank you!
There are so many things to do. Everyone is friendly. If you need to get healthier this the place.
I've been involved with the Y almost my whole life. I love all that it offers, wide range of activities for people of all ages, good values, clean facility, good fitness classes and equipment.

The biggest improvement needed is the addition of more chair yoga classes. It looks to be your most popular class but very difficult to get into. Not sure with the demand why the y is not willing to expand it. Second management needs to stay on top of the rubber feet. You spend a lot on balloon arches how about a couple of bucks on the feet? They were replaced last year but are in need of upgrades again.
Kudos to the staff they are great. The place is clean. Meet the demand for chair yoga and it will be perfect.
The comfort of environment and atmosphere. I’m only sorry they have no contract with silver sneakers. But in spite of that, I still stay. Pay my annual dues rather than another gym membership. As a senior, I wish they had discounts….
Superb facility though and worth the $ but some seniors may be hard pressed.
