Aqua exercise
Variety of classes and great instructors
I feel very comfortable exercising at the YMCA in Stratford. I like the teachers of the classes I attend. They are informative and helpful. I have met some good friends there.
My child was always excited to go in the morning. She made friends and always had positive experiences.
All classes and instructors, friendly, helpful staff
Lower prices of members who are not covered by insurance
employ staff members who enforce rules instead of turning a blind eye.
The competition pool is large and well maintained.
The exercise gym is well equipped, providing for minimum wait times .
Staff and educators were always very friendly, my child seemed happy at pick up from after school most days!
We loved this program. Communication and pick up was a little tricky. The B&G parents had some issues at pick up
My son is 6, and in his own words, the program was “very boring.” The crafts didn’t appeal to him — which surprised me, because he absolutely loves crafts. He also found most of the caretakers to be either very strict and grumpy, or focused on clear favorites among the kids rather than the group as a whole. I can vouch for that observation myself — I would sometimes stay during pickup while he finished a game or spent time on the playground, and I noticed the same dynamic.
That said, I do want to acknowledge that the staff kept the kids safe, and that matters more than anything when I’m leaving my son in someone else’s care. Thank you sincerely for that.
A bright spot came toward the end of the year with a new male caretaker who joined the program. He had a much more approachable personality and genuinely played with the kids; honestly, that kind of energy is exactly what the program could use more of. My son really enjoyed him — and the snacks were always a win too! Thank you for the care you provided this year. I hope this feedback is helpful.
the exercise is good, but more importantly, I’ve met many nice people, who’ve become friends.
The staff make me feel confident that my child is safe, and that she feels comfortable and included at camp. They also communicate well and are understanding and flexible.
They are life savers. We both work and need the support when school is closed. Our son loves going there!
Like to see a more serious approach to the caliber of activities prepared for the kids also more focus on privacy and security of venue.
From birthday parties, to gymnastics, to our third year at camp teepee we love the Trumbull ymca and feel very blessed to be part of the community that surrounds it.
The convenience for the parents, especially on early dismissal days
Great personable counselors, flexible long hours
The hours are great and my kid has a blast
The group classes
Lots of classes seem to be cancelled. Parking is a problem. Our AOA leader will be out all summer for the camps. She’s a terrific teacher but subs are only so so. Many of us take the AOA class only because Colleen V teaches it. Disappointing.
Friendly and competent staff. Wonderful members who value health and fitness. Clean facility.
I wish I asked about assistance with the exercise equipment. I never saw help available up there. I joined for the pool, but would have used the gym if assistance/an orientation was provided. Maybe offer an orientation for new members.
atmosphere
Most of my friends and acquaintances, and I, are elders who depend on Silver Sneakers for gym memberships. It was painful to have to leave the Branford Y when my Medicare had to be switched to a SS provider. Maybe accept Silver Sneakers, plus charge each SS member a nominal fee to make up the diff between what they pay and what other Medicare gym memberships pay?
I appreciate the pool swim times and especially enjoy the cardio dance and Zumba classes.
I like the group classes.
What has happened to the Building Program? The Y in Stratford needs Serious Restructuring of facility.
Variety of classes and equipment availability.

Great Place ,nice people,Clean great variety of classes!!
