I’m happy with the monthly cost I pay. I only use it for the aqua fit/zumba at present. I recently had to take a few months “ holiday” as I had major surgery. I received a get well card from YMCA which was lovely ! Everyone is welcoming, I have also ( being from Uk ) met some lovely ladies at the aqua classes
Gym equipment could be upgraded. Pool is in good shape. Group exercise room has been closed for months.
People are great but the facility old. I swanned on their team as a child which would be about 45 years ago; it’s exactly the same. They need an update.
I love the YMCA: wonderful, responsive instructors, friendly reception staff, and a diverse range of classes.
Flexible hours and clean facilities
The Woodruff family Y is awesome. The pool staff are especially helpful and understanding. I really like the members, they are friendly and approachable and treat other members like family.
I like the classes I have gone to because the instructors are knowledgeable. I go to PT once a week, Denise is great and has helped me to improve my strength.
Friendly staff variety of programs for all ages and cleanliness of facility
The employees are friendly and helpful, I can change things at the desk instead of having to go online. The gym is always clean, especially after the annual deep clean. The communications are clear and helpful. Honestly, the Y is great.
The facility is always clean and the staff extremely friendly. I love the competition pool.

So many options for staying fit and healthy. I use the gym and swim in the pool regularly and enjoy the yoga classes.
I joined to swim laps. Now the swim teams dominate the competition pool all day except for a few mid-day hours. I pay to swim. Maybe not for long.
I would like to see more classes and activities.
It would be great if there were more ways to utilize the y in the winter when it is hard to be outside. I would love a. unstructured open play times in the winter. My kids have a lot of energy and it can be hard to find places to get energy out. Also a hot tub or sauna would be lovely.
I like open swim for my kids, I with there was a way to check out equipment when there isn't a class happening.
I wish there was more fun equipment. Like a hip thrust machine.
Its hard to make the class times as a working parent. I wish you classes for adults and kids to do together.
Why is the splash pad never working?
Great Y. I only use the gym currently. The machines are relatively new, varied and kept in good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. An added benefit is 2 sessions with a trainer with a paid membership. Highly recommend.
It is a great community of people who enjoy doing the classes and working out. The instructors are good and encouraging. I enjoy getting to know people there and I enjoy the classes.

Some time ago the abs machine in the gym was removed for repair. It was determined that because of its age , parts were not available and it had to be replaced. After a lengthy period of inactivity,I inquired and received the advice that 3 bids were needed for a new machine and only 2 were received as yet. More time passed with no word. Finally I inquired again and was informed that the third bid had been received but that Central Connecticut management wanted Fairfield Y to check with the other Ys to see if they might have one (???). That was about a month ago and no one at the front desk has a clue what I am talking about when I inquire.
It would be good if the people at the front desk were provided some basic information so they can respond to a simple status question. BTW, if we are not getting an abs machine, that might be good to know.
My wife recently found out that there would be no open lanes in the pool during the week. (Just weekends). When she asked why (she had been using them for 5 years), again no one knew or seemed to care.
This morning, I received a notice from the Branford Y, advising that the recreational pool was closed. The 8 am water fitness class was also canceled, and now there is no 10 am class. We often receive these notices because no instructor is available. While I enjoy the classes, exercise, and friends I've made there, it is expensive to pay for classes when they aren't available.
The Y pool schedule needs to be more reliable and have substitute instructors when needed.
Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA staff is very kind, helpful, courteous and professional. You are welcomed as a family member. It is a pleasure going there. There are many classes and activities to choose from.
I hope with the change of Medicare the membership will not change.
