The staff was great and Dr. Burleson is awesome!
What can you do to make things right? Don't bill me.
The surgeon told my doctor that I did not need to be admitted. They spoke during a consultation over the phone when I was in the ER - I was there at the bidding of my doctor. But I was not told the surgeon's advice and analysis of my CT scan. Rather, I was told I should be admitted, only to be told the following day by the surgeon it wasn't necessary. This entire bill will be disputed with the insurance company.
While in the hospital, I experienced all kinds of horrible things. Nurses who were not told important information about me. Nurses who did not care about my well being. People coming in trying to give me breathing exercises when I was there for abdominal and not respiratory. The guy was insistent I needed this breathing thing, he confirmed he had the correct room.
I requested but wasn't given my pain medication scheduled for 7am. No one came to give me my pain medication at 1pm.
When the person drew blood it caused me so much pain - he did it wrong and I had a huge bump on my arm - and I am susceptible to blood clots and DVTs, so you really needed to make sure a registered RN took my blood, and I don't think he was. The nurse put in notes and requested a doctor stop by- but they never did. I didn't get a doctor visit during regular rounds in the morning.
But, after 11:15am, and twice afterward by 2 other doctors, I was told I'd be discharged. But it STILL took over 4 hours before I could leave. It is my perception you were trying to hold me over until the next day's billing started at 3pm.
I was merely a bill to you. I can see and hear the construction going on -- I was not there because you thought I needed to be - I was there to be charged money.
I will never go back to your hospital. I will tell everyone about my horrible experience. You, your policies, and your staff should be ashamed of their treatment of me and others I'm certain.
What else can you do to make things right? Shut down your business and save some lives. Seriously - don't be a hospital anymore.
I came in for a animal bite and was only there 10 minutes to be sent home with antibiotics and the Doctor put steri strips over the puncture wounds which wouldn’t allow the infection to drain out.
The personal attention was great. however, I did not like that I was informed two days before my surgery that I had a balance of $1000 that needed to be paid before surgery. A little more notice would have been great
surgery center
Very courteous and friendly staff. Explained all details of my stay.
Got me in and out as smooth as possible. Excellent experience for my first surgery. Thank you.
Staff was so friendly from the check-in to seeing the NP and Radiology. I felt taken care of…
Dr. Kara was exceptional. Sincerely I had a medical issue that required surgery. She was very thorough and compassionate. She diagnosed me accurately and facilitated me getting a very good surgeon. I’m truly grateful.
Also, the nurses were outstanding too. The sonography tech was very good as well. I can’t express how professional and good this team was.
The staff from front desk to nurses, doctors all were great.
The entire staff from the check in, waiting room, and surgery departments were so friendly, helpful and professional. I would recommend that anyone needing surgery visit Baylor Scott & White Frisco and McKinney.
Everything!
Very friendly staff!! It’s nice to get a free muffin & coffee for the person that brought me for my procedure. The 50% off coupon for the cafeteria was very nice as well, that food was amazing, just as the staff recommended after my procedure. I will definitely refer people to that facility in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at your surgery facility. The nurses and staff were extremely helpful and very attentive.
Postpartum. The L&D staff was amazing. Overall, I was treated well from beginning to end. But if I had to give an area to improve is postpartum area.
everyone was so kind and caring
The doctor and the office staff were kind and professional. Access to the facility is easy.
Great assistance from groups: Pre-Registration, Admission and Nurses/Aids
Great facility and staff
Very friendly and professional staff
Highly recommend
I tried to get an appointment at my doctor's. I couldn't get in for another month. When I to Baylor Scott and white, I was seen right away. I saw the doctor got my prescription and out within the hour
Very friendly and informative staff.
Best care and services.
Physician and staff were up to mark.
God bless you all.
Level of care was beyond expectations.
Organized! From front door to procedure it was smooth. Jill in endoscopy prep was so great. Kind, gentle, and made me feel at ease.
Prompt attention, excellent care
Quickness
Doctor was very nice.
I’ve delivered 3 babies at Baylor Scott and White. The first two experiences were great, but based on my third experience I would choose a different doctor so that I wouldn’t have to deliver at BSW (and I love OB, but the experience this delivery was poor enough I would unfortunately change). The only nurse that was exceptional was Veronica, by L&D nurse. She was great! All of the other nurses I was unimpressed by. They didn’t check in, forgot to bring requested supplies, and were not very warm and friendly. The postpartum and nursery nurses left a lot to be desired in their care and communication. The dining room service staff was very very kind, but messed up every order. The discharge was chaotic and confusing. We didn’t know when we could leave and what we were waiting on at times. The hearing screener was not super knowledgeable and didn’t seem to know what she was doing when doing the check. The lactation specialist, Shannon, only came in twice and gave us a piece of paper each time and wrote her name on the board, nothing more. She never watched a feed to check on latching or offer advice. And I never had a lactation specialist check in at night. The neighboring room was very noisy and disruptive. They were yelling at each other, yelling expletives at their toddler from about 6 in the morning until 10 at night. While I know this wasn’t done by BSW staff, it would have been nice to move rooms or maybe someone should’ve checked in on them to see why the disturbances were happening.
When we were discharged we were told our son had jaundice and we needed to come in for bloodwork the next day. We came back as instructed. The lab tech told us someone would follow up with us in an hour. After three hours when I didn’t hear from anyone I called the lab, the nursery and the women’s center number. The nursery said they don’t release that information to anyone but the doctor. The lab said the results were in but they couldn’t tell me what they were. And the women’s center never answered the phone. I asked the lab if I could have the doctors number. They said they didn’t have it and I’d have to look it up. I asked them to fax the results to my pediatrician. When I called the pediatrician two hours later they still had not received any results. Around 7 that night I called the nursery again and asked to talk to the doctor. The doctor called back around 7:30 and said that his number was high enough that he needed to start phototherapy that night, but that every home health care place was closed so I needed to bring him to the ER to get him care for his jaundice. So we then had to bring our baby to the ER for a jaundice check. This was EXTREMELY frustrating because this could have been avoided had someone just called me when the results were available. It was also frustrating because when someone didn’t call me and I tried to be proactive during business hours, I was blown off and nobody would give the me the test results for my son, or get me in contact with the doctor. Had someone gotten me in contact with the doctor or called with the results when they were available we could have avoided and lengthy, stressful, unnecessary and costly trip to the ER. I was severely disappointed with the lack of communication in this situation and what it caused for us.
While I enjoyed BSW for my first two births, I would not return again based on my experience this time. Poor care, poor communication, and an overall decline in hospital performance would keep me from coming back.

The staff was great. Dr. Beckman is professional and knowledgeable. Also, she is down to earth so she has a great bedside manner.
