Great experience as always! The team is super helpful here and always helps me get what I need.
I’m an AidsLifeCycle rider and was given a discount for a purchase so I’ll continue shopping and recommend Helen’s to fellow cyclists
Fixed my tire fast, while waiting. Thank you!!!
Everything! Sales guys and mechanics are awesome. Always helpful and explains everything that’s going on with the bike.
Great products for all levels for biking. Service it top notch. The people working in the store are full of info and know the products.
Josh was fantastic.
Helped set me up for success as I got my first road bike, gave me excellent advise tips on the essential gear and helped pick an effective bike that suited my entry level budget.
Great store and delighted with the visit.
Fast, reliable, and knowledgeable service.
Nothing, great store
Erick Rodas is by far the best bike mechanic in LA!
Service with Eric Rodas, the pro mechanic is excellent— an excellent bike mechanic.
I haven’t looked at the products much the past 2 years due to the covid restrictions, and the restrictive way in which the store was run— too long a wait to get in, etc.
Josh was very helpful in helping me choose the right bicycle and selecting the right components. He is quite knowledgeable and is able to communicate clearly. The service department did a great job tuning the bicycle in a timely manner.
I've been a satisfied customer since 1982 ... simple as that!
A lot of items in stock and very knowledgeable staff
Friendly, quick and easy!
Better inspection to the bike before give it to the customer
Helens cycles was the only store in the Los Angeles area that was able to order the gromet cover that I wanted for my Santa Cruz Stigma. I made an appointment with a mechanic to have the bike get a few component installations that I was very excited about. The gromets arrived within a week! I was very and I drove over (from dodger stadium area) to pick them up.
I left my bike in for a dropper post install, bar change (internal cable routing with the bar) and a new rear derailer cable.
I got a couple of calls from the mechanic saying there was a need for a brake line purchase and that the dropper post install was tricky, but they were finding a solution. I trusted their experience.
I picked up my bike, took it for a quick spin up and down the block said thank you and quickly left for home to try and avoid Friday rush hour (I should have inspected the bike closely), I noticed a few things when I got home.
They forgot to return my handle bars. They said a mechanic that lives near me would can me this weekend to coordinate a pick up (the mechanic hasn't called)
My hydro disk brake levers bottom out even after I've bedded in the brakes and they don't stop me the way they should. Mechanic had to remove the the couplers from the 2 brake lines for some reason.
The cable routing is messy looking. Plain and simple. Cables are unnecessarily long. Why did the mechanic remove the hydro brake line couplers?
The mechanic didn't re install the gromet cover under my bottom bracket. When was I supposed to find out about this? It's exposed. The bottom bracket internal cable routing port is crooked. I can't even put on the cover.
The mechanic had to mickey mouse rig my dropper post. It is a Thomson covert black post, cable actuated. I asked for it to be installed to my SRAM front shift lever. It wasn't done properly.
And last but not least. The mechanic used a gromet cover with a hole that's TOO LARGE for the dropper post cable. The gromet set came with the correct sizes for every port cover on the bike. I'll have dirt and water going into my down tube in no time. Maybe that's why the bottom cover was left off? So it could all drain out 😂 this over sight that's going to cost me time and money to redo.
Worst part is after paying $257.23 is that my bike is still not ready. This is how I commute. I don't have a car.
My fiancee and I got to ride bikes with the owner of Helens cycles during Tour de Austin. He was a nice fellow, I wanted to checkout a new (not so) LBS. Sad to say but I won't be going back.
ALWAYS GREAT SERVICE AND ALWAYS SUPER HELPFUL!! THANK YOU!!
Had what I wanted and the service was fantastic!
Quick, easy and friendly service.
It’s the only “real” bike shop in my area. Everyone is extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful. A few areas that have been a struggle…There are a few items that you don’t carry that I would’ve appreciated a little more help hunting down (these really cool dynamo powered lights https://www.reelight.com/. I got them now). Hours have become weird during lockdown, so it’s hard to connect with someone when I need something. More options for step through bikes. I was really considering the six three zero, but I want to test ride first. And while the options for knee and back injuries sound cool, you don’t know till you try. Plus after I took lots of time to figure out my best fit, they were always out of those bikes. So I like that I can come in and try the bike at your place. But options and exchanges are limited. I’m probably not your main target (with the step through bike), but I am a returning customer.
Cameron helped me a lot. He is nice guy.
Knowledgeable staff, quality products.
I went to Helen's Bicycles for a tune-up on my bike. The volume of business at the Santa Monica location is very high, which gives you a little indication about the quality and reliability of the service people behind the counter.. While I was there, at least 3 -4 other customers also brought their bikes into the service department for help, and they are well staffed accordingly. There are at least 3- 4 full-time bicycle repair specialists working there, many of whom have been there for a dozen years or more. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and willing to explain everything they do to help you understand and enjoy your bike.
Y'all are great. Great service, great products, and you're quick with labor and orders.
Thanks for helping me with my new bike!!
Loved the store, large, spacious, service was solid and bike came back in perfect shape.
The cost. Maybe it's because of inflation but everything felt really expensive.
Very friendly and accommodating team
Friendly service
Knowledgeable staff and diverse product options

Very friendly and responsive if you're looking for your next bike or some maintenance on an old bike. The mechanics are top notch!
