Tough to get into the store right now. Five at a time does not seem like very much for such a big space. Along with being closed 2 days a week and being open for just 6 or so hours a day makesone reluctant to even try to come in.

I'm really conflicted. I have been a big supporter of Helen's through the years and have primarily dealt with the crew in Santa Monica although I have bought a bike in the Marina and have had the guys in the ex-Westwood store do some maintenance. All great experiences. And my initial experiences with the Manhattan Beach store were good. But this particular experience was about as bad as it gets. I brought in a broken wheel in for evaluation and repair. I was working w/ Greg. The plan was to see if Cannondale would warranty the item or just get the necessary parts to repair the rear hub. If that was not possible then we would look at a replacement hub and re-lacing the wheels on my dime. Although I was not in a hurry there seemed to be ZERO sense of urgency on Greg's part. Although he told me that he'd keep my updated he NEVER called me. I always had to initiate any call or conversation. Greg was pleasant on the phone but I felt as if he had no interest in getting things resolved. After multiple calls with no action I had to email Jay and ask for his help. Two days later Greg called me (no apologetic in any way) to say the they would have the necessary parts in a few days to repair the wheel. I would have welcomed that information 2 months prior but it took an email to the owner to get results. Anyway I decided to do nothing but it was something that could have been resolved much earlier.
I know that things are different now due to COVID. But this is a great opportunity to strengthen customer relationships with basic skills like proactive and open lines of communication rather than being non-communicative and leaving customers in the dark. I apologize for rambling but I truly felt the need to respond.

What is going on with reduced hours? Had to skip Helen's in Santa Monica and then wait at I Martin closer to home. Negative impression given by staff who explained this was their only lunch break and that I should be happy to wait with my two young kids. Five people at a time in the store? And 15 minutes maximum to test and buy a bike? Long line of unhappy people in both parking lots. Hope you are able to resolve Jay. Will shop elsewhere for now.
