When I picked up my bike which was in for a tune up, the seat was split in a couple of places and it appeared that some glue or something was put into the cracks. It was very sticky when I picked it up. I know it wasn't that way when I brought it in because I was lifting the bike in and out of my car and was holding onto the seat and I would have definitely noticed it. It was pretty obvious when we picked it up and my husband asked how did that happen to the seat. No-one seemed to know stating it could be wear and tear but there was no way it could have happened there. All I know is that it was not that way when I brought it in and I feel like if something happened to it there and someone tried to repair it, it would have been good to own up to it. One of the sales woman offered to put a neoprene cover over it. I accepted that solution but was disappointed with my experience. I decided not to make a fuss over it, but it would have been nice to have been at least offered a new seat at cost.
Other than that, it would have been a good experience.
Chain Reaction is such a great family-run store that really cares about its customers. I always get great customer service from Mike, Becky, Kevin and the rest of the team.

Both times I arrived it did not seem like there weer that many customers, but I still felt it was a little hard to get someone's attention help. everyone seemed very busy (doing an inventory, looking something up etc), and did not break their concentration to acknowledge that a real in-person customer had arrived.
I am based in San Jose, and this was my closest Trek dealer that also had what I wanted in stock. The transaction did take 2 trips, because the bike was present but not assembled.
Also, I think owing to the overall lack of customer service, I didn't know ahead of time I would have gotten a discount on accessories. Between the time I scheduled a test ride and when I came in, I had already ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of add-ons for the bike, that I would have been happy to have purchased through the dealer if. knew there was a discount.
This seems like an extra glaring omission wit THIS bike because it is basically incomplete without some combo of the factory-supplied add-ons (family pack, pannier tubs etc).
Very friendly people - Kevin put in my order for an ebike, stayed on top of it and I received my bike in record time.
Well laid out store and displays of bikes, parts, accessories. Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending options for upgrading my Trek.

ChainReaction's staff (family business) is the most friendly, knowledgeable and helpful of any retail establishment I've ever shopped at. Their store is well stocked with most anything and everything you'll need. And if they need to, they'll special order what it is you need. It's always a great experience walking into that shop.
Products and service are of top quality. They respond to all of your questions and concerns and offer great advice on future maintenance or products. Their goal is to get you on your bike as fast as possible, at the least possible cost.
