Very personable members of staff who helped me pick gifts out.
The sales associates were not very friendly in the store section. But the mechanics are THE BEST! So helpful and take the time to explain the issues.
It would be great if there were a few brands of kids bikes to choose from

I brought my bike in for a flat fix. Given I have gator skins and which are puncture resistant, I suggested the cause was probably big and ask that the mechanic try to find the cause so I don’t get more flats. I wasn’t crazy about paying almost $30 for a flat fix (everywhere else they’re $20) but what can you do.
When I picked up my bike, I asked if they found the cause. They said they didn’t think the mechanic looked. -_-
C’mon guys!! Do me a service and try to figure out why my puncture proof tires got a flat!! CARE about your customers!
Lo and behold the next day I got another flat. I took it to another bike shop and they found I had a faulty tire. the wire bead in my tire had snapped and was puncturing my tube.
Why recommend Bicycle Habitat? I ended up paying more for less.

Timeliness and quality of service.
I felt that the sales associate was quite rude. It was really a terrible experience. I wanted to buy a bike, and the person who helped me was a young guy who was incredibly unfriendly. So I never went back to the store (in Chelsea) , and I never bought the bike.

I have gone to B.H. for over a decade and trust everyone there. I bought my Specialized maybe 12 years ago and have had every tune up there since. I live upstate now but come into the city periodically. I was just in Brooklyn this past Sunday and had my first every and very harrowing bike accident. I am luckily unscathed but my poor bike's front wheel got bludgeoned as well as some chain damage etc. I only had a few hours to potentially get it fixed while in town and Adam at BH on Vanderbilt fixed it with so much generosity and expertise. It was close to 5pm and he didn't have to take it on. I so appreciated everything about my experience and once again, BH maintains heroic status. Thank you!

And a big advantage is that they carry two of the biggest brands of bikes Trek and Specialized.
Give them a try, to buy a new bike, accessories or getting yours repaired and tuned, and see what good service is all about!
