Bathrooms are regularly broken and dirty. Customer service from the membership people is subpar lately. Still paying Prairie Life pricing for Planet Fitness quality gym.
Update the showers. At least clean them better in the meantime.
get rid of the smell, always make sure the spray bottles are filled with cleaner
The 84/Q remodel has taken more than a year to complete. I was recently notified of a grand re-opening of the facility however parts of the mens locker room were not finished, steam, sauna and whirlpool. I inquired as to when the steam room would be ready. The person had no idea.
I have made a couple subsequent calls to check on completion and was told there is no commitment from the contractor as to when it will be ready. A part was back ordered.
So the locker room was closed for a year and they are still waiting for a part.
Unbelievable! The persons responsible for oversight of this project should be fired.
I was hoping to not receive a survey like this again. I gave similar feedback several months back. I originally joined as a member of Prairie Life and was very content during its ownership. All it has ever needed in my opinion is to be kept clean, maybe some fresh paint and carpet now and then.
Leo, if you read this, its not personal. No need to send me a reply. Just put some pressure on whoever is responsible to get the steam room open and let me know when it is ready.

Dehumidifiers need to be put in the group classes. The humidity is awful in there. If the YMCA can afford humidifiers in their classrooms, I feel like surely Genesis can do the same and make exercising in the summer bearable.
Genesis has state of the art equipment. Their locker rooms have been upgraded, including a steam room, sauna room, combination lockers, and towel service. They offer tennis lesion, yoga lesson, and professional trainers. They have a snack bar offering smoothies, beer, liquor drinks. Its a friendly atmosphere with convenient hours.
The variety of equipment and weights, the accessibility to the facility, having a pool.
The pools
Got the news about the big Re-Grand Opening, missed that weekend, but when I did go back, NO HOT TUB, NO STEAM ROOM OR SAUNA! I turned around and left as that was my SOLE reason for going there.
Clean locker rooms, friendly staff
I go to 2 different clubs KCRC in Merriam and the Olathe one. What I like about the KCRC one is that it has been remodeled and classes in the group X room are fantastic. My favorite instructor is Hannah Lukinac, I absolutely love her and her Strong Nation classes are EXCELLENT!! šš¼ I also like the lounge area and the shake bar.
The Olathe location has another of my favorite instructors Rachel Sotero she is a GEM of instructor, love her very much!! For this location, it will be nice to have it remodel and possibly add a shake bar in there.
EVERYTHING !!!
Clean. Love the pool
I like the group classes that are offered at 5 AM. I like the pool, my husband is involved in the tennis opportunities.
There are so many machines that are broken and have taken forever to get repaired. It just doesnāt leave much to utilize when there are 4-5 machines down, especially during the busier times.
Close to home - I live in Midtown Crossing. Large and weāll equipped. Windows make it much better than most gyms.
The staff is friendly!
The instructors are amazing. Always pushing you to do one more and with a smile. They love being fit and encourage their classes to come and work out with them.
Maintenance up keep. Very poorly maintained. The towel situation has improved greatly. Appreciate that.
I have a few ideas for getting more subscribers to the All American. It should be free for 60 days, this would give prospective participants time to experience the benefits of the class. Plus you need to reduce the add on cost. You would make more money with 10 new participants $10 than 1 at $50. Or make it free until itās over subscribed to then start charging.
Itās spacious, great amenities and plenty of equipment.
Need to install ceiling fans on the second floor over the weights and in the mens locker room. Air movement in the gym will help with the A/C and clear some of the interesting odors all gyms seem to fight. Also...spend just a few minutes looking at the ceiling in the mens shower area. The return air vents are caked with dust and dirt which also gets inside the HVAC units and causes more problems. Keep attacking the cleanliness of the showers. Hope the steam room is working-lateley it has been hit/miss. Also, please inspect all the Life Fitness elipticals. Two of them are really sqeaking and one the second one on the end (north side) has loose leg extensions. Recommend purchasing some of the attachments for the multi-jungle located on the second floor..
Everything from the weights to the staff to the lock room all in all great gym.
Stop showing favoritism and have everyone scan in. 8-9 am. Some just walk in. Iāve even heard the staff say so and so donāt need to scan in as they are training others.
Get construction completed.
Has the AC been broken/barely working all summer?? I usually run outside during the summer and donāt often go to the gym. The handful of times Iāve gone it was painfully hot/humid in the gym š Please fix this. Please have fans.
Everyone and everything
too late---
The facilities need updating and a refresh. Equipment is always under repair. All equipment needs connection to televisions. Need quality jump ropes of various lengths available. In observing some of the personal trainers with clients, I can't help but think they need good liability insurance. The weight and lifting techniques allowed are an injury waiting to happen.
This has more to do with the 84th and Q location and the online helpā¦. I have paid for a membership but didnāt have any way to get member info. It took 4 different people to help and no help from online. I also requested price for swim lessons, again this took multiple attempts. The minute they found out I was a paying member I was quickly dismissedā¦ I am doneā¦ please cancel my membership ASAP.
upkeep needs to improve. Machines are NOT fixed quickly when down. Cracked padding on machines is a frequent occurrence . . . It has become WAY TOO CROWDED. I am not sure where everyone came from. I know you many membership drives - would hate to find out many are paying less!!!
You need to give members some incentives. A 10 day guest pass now and then. You could also do a much better job for kids when home from college. We sent ours to other work out facilities since we had to pay for them to join and then to quit for the summer or breaks. That is pretty ridiculous. We are long time members and are getting frustrated.
You could have people circulating for those that sit and talk or text on machines - that is exceptionally inconsiderate. Also they could clean periodically.
I miss Prairie Life - it was more of a family that gave a darn about the appearance. My daughter is one of the first ones in in the a.m. She comments on the junk lying around. Not sure why you would not expect workers to do a thorough clean up at the end of the night. Have you ever looked at the dust on the machines! YIKES!
If you could just pay a bit more attention to detail to the cleanliness of the place - that would make a giant difference. . . . and the machines!
Debbie is a rockstar and I feel incredibly sorry for her. She tries hard!! She is your biggest asset! Just a few thoughts - thank you!!!
