I really enjoy Andrew's bootcamp class on Saturday mornings. Though there is not enough equipment for all of us. We end up waiting a fair amount. Would be nice to have another sled or two and a couple more ropes, etc... In addition sidewalks getting cleared have really struggled this year especially along side the building and the corner along Sprague street which has been cleared at all. This has led to myself having to walk in the road and have had a couple of misses with cars coming in.
This place needs a complete overhaul man. There hasn’t been new equipment in like forever. The cleanliness is non existent, we are in the middle of a pandemic and the bathrooms and machines are almost always filthy, when I make it in it’s usually later in the day I will admit, but the cleaning should be CONTINUOUS, even NOT during a pandemic! The parking lot is a pothole disaster and during ice and snow it’s a danger zone because it’s never taken care of. I’ve been a member so we the beginning of time, pay my dues and my yearly ‘maintenance fee’ and I would be interested to know where all of this money goes......Have barely seen new members in years it seems. It’s really gone down hill....

Location and the staff
The pool deck and the grill around the pool is dirty.
I complain about the pool deck an it was cleaned right away. The grill around the pool is black.
I had submitted some concerns on a survey in the past, and received a personal response and have noticed that a CHANGE occurred as a result of my feedback! I feel like this is a good club and I really enjoy the people I have gotten to know and staff seem friendly and efficient.
We like the hours, and the family friendly atmosphere (we have family fitness fun night there every Thursday night). We like the weights & treadmills. My son and I like the pool (when it's not too cool) and my daughter and I LOVE the hot tub!
Club is old and out dated. Equipment needs to be fixed or replaced. Mirrors cracked. Restrooms are filthy and stink.
For one we don't know how to have someone salt and or do snow removal. Any business should have this done. Its a liability.
Two, trainers are allowed to not clean up after themselves, slamming weights, and it very well appears bring all there friends in for free to work out. Since they never scan a badge and front desk employees have shared that.
All of these things for my $62 a month and a yearly building fee.
I like the location and the equipment so torn on how long to put up with this. Most of the regulars in the morning are pretty sick of it.
I actually go to South now but I live the trainers and instructors! Classes are great?
Team training changed my life.
Gym is really needing some upgrades. Cleaning is also not the foremost concern for onsite staff, both interior and exterior. I literally watched a broken glass bottle lay on the parking surface for over two weeks. I don't know that it was ever cleaned up, I actually think it is buried under the icy surface.
Too many people in the club weren't wearing masks. Shameful
Hand sanitizer available in more places.
Clean track and other places more often.
We've held a family membership for over a year yet my family members have yet to receive membership cards. Seems to be a gap in the process
There needs to be more communication about class changes or cancellations. A sign posted on the door doesn’t help to notify people ahead of time that a class is cancelled.
There also has to be an easier way to sign up for classes. An app like mindbody would be great and so much simpler than having to sign in every time and then search for classes.
The spin bikes only half work. Half are noisy and squeak or the screen doesn’t work.
I really like the variety of classes and times.
The club is very clean and plenty of sanitizer and cleaning rags to clean the equipment yourself. Love the layout of the club and all the friendly helpful staff.
Front desk staff usually can’t answer basic questions, they need more training. Since they are the first people you see when arriving, they would be able to answer most questions. Also, some classes seem to only be held during “working hours”. It would be nice to see more variety after 5pm. Other than that, the facility and equipment is great.
The people are great but the facilities need some serious updates. When the showers don’t drain, there are serious issues that need to be addressed!!
What I like about Genesis health club in Overland Park is the fact that it is a new facility, the amenities, the amount of tennis courts. The Tennis program ran by Coach Katie is absolutely terrific. My daughter (4 yrs old) can’t wait to go to her group lessons on Sunday. The hot steam room is a wonderful added value that I use each time I go. The staff is always welcoming and will answer any questions we have. The daycare center is terrific when open. I have recommended Genesis already to co workers and friends and have signed up Taylor Oakley and Dolan Oakley. They also have enjoyed the facility!
While there are a lot of good things!!
I do feel like the machines are broken a lot, and it takes a LONG time for them to actually get fixed.
Staff is ALWAYS so pleasant!! That makes for a nice experience!
Better lockers and towels
Friendly employees plus safety issues as far as Covid
Friendlier staff
On my most recent visit to the south Genesis location, in the hour I was there using he cardio machines there were three people who did not wear a mask for their entire workout or as the moved around the space and between multiple machines. Two of the three also did not have spray and a towel and left their machine without cleaning it. No staff were anywhere to be found looking out for or supporting these efforts. As it gets busier at the clubs it is harder to avoid these people. I sure wish the club(s) would do a better job of enforcing the standards and rules they claim to uphold.
SOUTH 70 location in Lincoln, NE.
The steam room or sauna is always down in the women's locker room. The shower area itself isn't very clean and the steam room read smells like mold even though it is brand new.
Treadmills regularly do not work. I usually have to move machines at least once, sometimes more, before finding a usable machine. We joke that there should be a pile of "out of order " signs for members to put on the machines sitting with the treadmills.
Members have been told since the purchase that things will be remodeled but nothing has been improved.

much of the club is really dated especially bathroom stalls, sinks and water fountains. free weight layout isn't great. also insufficient cable machines. frustrated that 3 of the TVs in cardio area are the Genesis TVs. no need for them considering there are times in which they don't even work. that statement also applies to the papillion location, as well. i previously went to 144th and F (until it was closed without any notice - crappy management), which had many issues related to cleanliness and machines not working but layout and machines offered there were better than what is offered at 132nd & center. hoping 144th & F will be cleaned up & remodeled.
