I’ve been asking since Covid restrictions were lifted for health clubs; to resume Monday through Thursday Senior strengthening classes ;now called Forever Fit) which now are only offered Monday & Wednesday. No one @ the East Genesis is able to give me an answer & it is a constant run-around with excuses. I even contacted the Regional manager & said “maybe” they might start in May. Well.....it’s only a week away & nothing has been confirmed about offering it 4 days a week pre-Covid.
Better cleaning overall. Your facility at 84th and Q does a much better job.
Great equipment and cleanliness
Well for one, this is a lie, proving by your organization over and over again:
“ At Genesis Health Clubs, we are 100% committed to meeting the needs of our members. In an effort to monitor and improve member satisfaction, we would like to invite you to provide feedback on our service. ”
Corporate is lazy and unqualified, as well as your regionals, Eric Banda and the other general managers, as well as fitness managers and trainers.
I can’t wait until someone gets seriously hurt by your organizations continued negligence and you get sued and left with no choice but to shut down completely or sell.
There are at least four showers in the women's locker room that do not work three have been out of service for more than ten months. The water in the pool is consistently cloudy and the pool has been over filled at least once a month for the past 5 months. Cleaning of our facility is sub par. While Midtown even cleaned and sanitized the lockers, I have had to wipe my locker due to dirty shoes being in there many tomes this year.
I do enjoy the water aerobics classes, would really like to see the pool area cleaned regularly there is a broken lane rope that was taken out of the pool and dropped in an area of the pool deck over a werk ago. There is no prode of ownership or work ethic. I left a message for the manager to call me and have not heard from him, I rarely see him there. Instead of concentrating on acquiring more clubs they need to learn how to maintain what they have first.
More detailed cleaning
Friendliness
Treadmills are constantly broken and out of service. The cleanliness of the equipment, not Covid related is concerning. Mud and dirt is on a lot of the cardio equipment. Men’s locker room needs to be vacuumed every day. Lots of dirt and gravel on the locker room floors. Just very disappointed with the overall gym lately since the new company took over. Instead of spending money on signs on the outside, maybe spend that money on equipment for the inside. Towels are extremely small too. When it was Prairie Life Fitness there were nice towels. You have a lot of work to do to get things back up to where it should be. There are many gym alternatives out there.
Please supervise or hold teens to club rules. Cleanliness of locker run a concern.
Nice with open lifting area
I take Pilates Reformer with Anne and do group cycle many times a week. I believe the club is a great value. The bike program has really developed nicely over the last 5 years and we now have a bullpen of great teachers. Anne is a hugh part of my devotion to this club. She is a great teacher, mentor, and a good person! ps....it is time to start using the overhead fans in cycle....wink wink emoji. Ciao...Deb Last name removed
The club is always very clean and the personnel friendly, but the class schedules don't do much to accommodate me, anymore. Love Kris and Nikki, but am finding Andrea at Cass and AkSarBen with her boot camps and strength classes as well as Beth at AkSarBen for Boot Camp and lifting to be terrific instructors at better class times like 9:15 and over lunch. Wish you could get Andrea and Beth on the schedule at MidTown. That location is so nice, but have to admit that having choices has saved me. Adjusting to the schedule and location changes was a beast. Nice to have the choices and have found some semblance of a routine, again.
Men jacuzzi is always filthy, literally a ring of filth around it. So bad I've seen members trying to clean it off. Towel service is lacking multiple times they had no towels mens steam room gets dirty and there is no longer a hose to wash it down. Sauna is over crowded...that is when it works. It's not uncommon for the shower to be broken or the soap dispensers empty in all stalls. The gym is to understaffed to keep up with the amount of traffic.
The personal training! Judy is awesome!
Friendlier staff
I really like the club opening early at 5 AM. It is a wonderful way to start each day. The pool is wonderful for rehabilitation from my back surgery.
The gym still isn't as clean as it needs to be. More regular equipment maintenance and replacement is needed.
Love the pool and water aerobics classes.
na
It a great place and offers so much to help in wellness journey
Towel service. Friendly atmosphere. Clean equipment. Great classes with lots of options.
Very clean club with a lot of good options for a workout. I especially like the swimming pool and hot tubs .
Very convenient, great staff, good workout equipment
I've been a member of Genesis for about 4 months now. I love the variety of classes and class times offered during the week. I can always find a class that fits into my schedule. I also like that I can go to any Genesis club in (our out of) town. The club is clean and the instructors are friendly.
Variety of different classes
Part of why I joined during/at the end of this pandemic was that the club makes a big show with signed and notices that people will have to wear masks and be safe and clean. The last few times I’ve been in, there are guys working out the entire time with their mask as a “chin diaper”, the staff doesn’t clean things or make sure customers are cleaning. It seems like all the notices and assurances are only to get people to sign back up and there is no actual follow through. I have a friend in the ICU with covid right now who is likely not going to make it, but if you walked into this gym, you’d think the pandemic never happened, judging by the way the staff and customers are.
It's clean and well equipped
Have kids yoga on the TV in kids club. Or some other type of kids workout activities on TV.
Location and Pool
Clean and good equipment. Employees seem to care
