Now that the steam room is fixed, it is perfect for me.
Good value
fix and bring back old leg press (broke in Dec)
Improve air cond in gym
chest/ back fly very popular, consider getting a second
replace ice machine with water bottle filling machine
Sunday cycle class. Not sure why it was taken off the schedule
Only one towel is a little silly. Wouldn’t take much money to improve that. Maybe keep towels in the locker rooms.
New spray bottles. Lot of the current ones don’t work well.
Lots of broken machines that haven’t been fixed in months if not years at aksarben location. I have tried to replace my key card multiple times at multiple locations and nobody can seem to transfer an account between key cards. Otherwise gym is good and classes are good but for the price point and space I don’t think currently it is a recommendation.
I enjoy the cycle classes. Please add more disinfecting spray bottles to the cycle room. There seems to be fewer disinfecting spray bottles than there have been in the past.
Westroads is now a "premier" location and i cannot use that location because I do not have the "right" type of membership
Friendly staff laced out nice
The workers are never able to answer questions, they don’t even try. One of the lifeguards is mean to the kids. Expected the locker room renovations to be completely done by now.
One life gym was incredibly better. Better staff, better maintenance of the machines, better punctuality of early mornings, better everything. Will be leaving as soon as the new gym opens on the plaza.
It is clean and well staffed. A friendly place to exercise.
The maintenance of the building is awful. The air conditioning has not been working well since it was turned on this year. I love the exercise classes but twice there has been no air for weeks at a time in that room!!!
They have had plumbing issues since April. Water fountains and bathrooms not able to be used upstairs at a variety of times.
designated pickup basketball times
have large towels sitting out and available
don't allow swimming lessons to take up a lane in the pool
cheaper tennis :)
Pool maintenance is much improved!
The Genesis clubs have the most fabulous staff members!! I also like the cardiac machines that you have there!
Stop lying to people just to trap them in a contract for starters. Then stop offering bonuses for getting members to sign up if you don’t plan on standing by the promise. Last if someone says they're not interested then stop calling.
It is clean and the staff is great. Also, club does a good job keeping equipment in good condition.
the pool
The locker room area is a complete embarrassment. It always smells bad, the showers and steam room are literally falling apart, and I am pretty sure there are health hazards in there. Just terrible
6 AM classes
towel service
proximity to home
Customer service issues.
Both Lee’s Summit locations have a great staff, a great environment, and trainers ready to help you, whether you are being trained by them or not. Amazing, and highly recommended.
All the equipment
While the water quality has improved over the last review (3/10), but it reverted somewhat in the following weeks. Debris has reappeared at the bottom of the pool. While not as white as it had been, The water is not as clear was at one point this spring. I just swam at another pool with beautiful clear water. It can be done. Also, none of the burned out ceiling lightbulbs or burned pool lightbulbs have been replaced.
I have heard that the pool is going to be closed for painting and repair. When is this scheduled to occur?
Friendly atmosphere
I don’t agree with music selections , it’s mostly biased , appeals to younger crowd. Or perhaps keep volume lower. Most ppl have their earbuds in anyway. I never have.
Thanks for great place
Clean studios on a more regular basis.
Back when it was one life things were very clean, specially the bathrooms, now it's a hit or miss -- very inconsistent. Also, 24 hours was awesome because I didn't have to think of when I could go in, but if you guys can't afford it (genesis is a huge company so I don't get why it'd be breaking the bank?) at least make weekend hours not be just till 6 -- it sucks.
Gym is in a fantastic location in a growing downtown, don't let the corporate overlords make it less than it should be.
You took over a perfectly good gym (OneLife) and filled it with your subpar employees who don’t greet members, take take of the gym, or clean anywhere close to the level that OneLife did. EVERY TIME I walk in they’re necks are at a 45° angle staring at their phones. Members leave equipment everywhere (which I know you can’t prevent) but then none of the trainers or staff make a point to correct it.
I like the vibe and how clean it is.
One thing I've noticed since Genesis took over is that the machines seem to be dirtier - example - the older leg press machine always has a bunch of dirt, pebbles, debris on it's foot rest area. Don't remember seeing that under previous ownership. Based on how expensive membership is (another issue), I am kinda surprised that it's not cleaner. And cost - it's quite expensive - one of the most expensive gyms in town. Another issue for me is that some of the old equipment that was smaller and geared to women, is gone. There are machines in the weight room I literally can't use because of my petite stature.
This is a moot point since constructions is complete, but when there's activity in the gym, which is most of the time, the whole place is just so loud as the shouting, bouncing balls, music for classes in the gym reverberate throughout the entire space. I do like the openness but was thinking as I was walking on the treadmill upstairs, which overlooks the gym, that maybe having some kind of sound dampening installation would be nice -- either something to tamp down the sound - some acoustical treatment, or plexiglass along the railing upstairs to block it. The biggest disappoint for me of the new design was the removal of the small space on the east end of the building that was 'women only.' It was a small weight room with a few machines and some free (low-pound) weights. It was so 'zen' in there - no one making you feel uncomfortable like you didn't belong, or leering at you. I really miss that space. Thank you for the opportunity to share my opinion.
Several of the pads on equipment are cracked very badly and several of the handle pads need to be replaced. Several soap dispensers in men’s bathroom are broken and carpet is ragged and needs replaced. Also people park on a machine and play on the cell phone for 10-15 minutes tieing up the equipment for other members.
On the positive side staff is friendly and courteous.
