Air is not working upstairs out of towels machines broke down . Dirty inside. Toilet upstairs broke down
Happy to see an improvement in the number of working cardio machines. Happy that the leaks in the roof seem to have been repaired. And also happy to see work started on fixing the tile in the men’s shower room and steam room. Progress on the tile seems stalled. Hopefully that will get finished at some point.
Too many broken spin bikes in the South Spin room, bent bars in the Studio 1 Body Pump Classes
I’ve stated this a few times but nothing seems to ever change. The staff is great. but the facility is totally falling apart. Things like the ice machine and steam room are out of order almost all the time. The AC doesn’t work and it’s very hot in there. It’s just generally run down and dirty, and I have yet to see any effort to improve the place. I don’t see how the owners can be ok with it like that.
Right now the temperature in the gym is really high. The group fitness room is unbearable at times.
Finish the locker room and the steam room, hot tub and sauna.
Maintenance if equipment, and facility
Wonderful facility and very helpful staff.
Its just a matter of location. We have to look up the schedule of the ball games, because if its a home game, we make an effort to avoid the area. Parking, the traffic, is just too much to deal with those days.
I really like the variety of things like the classes, weight rooms, pools, courts. I like that the place is big and spread out. It never seems crowded. I’m excited for the much needed remodel too!
I would like to see the exercise room reconfigured a bit. Especially for Bodypump. Can the bright lights get a dimmer? And can another weight rack be put on the opposite of the room? Move a mirror if needed. Currently, The logistics of the room aren’t great when there is a full class. Especially when setting up or putting things away. Maybe also put plexiglass behind where the stands are stored in the back of the room. It’s more convenient to have them in the back of the room but they are skuffing up the wall. Keeping them in the front room creates a jam of people.
Women’s bathrooms are in constant disrepair. Toilets leak and stalls are not clean. I would also like to see a wet area for swimmers and shower users to use toilets separate from non swimmers. The floors are always wet and it is slick.
Still can't find times when groups are playing pickup pickleball. The noon basketball has become outright unfriendly. The shower drains do NOT work properly.
Indoor pool looks cloudy, indoor track had spills, aqua class crowded
I like the variety of classes, the equipment available to use, and the personal trainers. The front desk staff is always friendly and the club is always clean and tidy. I also enjoy having several locations to choose from.
N/A
Variety of workout options and activities available to all ages and experience level. Also love the shake bar!
Please keep group classes, even if numbers are slightly below what you want. DO NOT cancel PiYo. This class has a great following and Phaera is awesome.
The tennis courts are dirty. Always a lot of debri on the courts.
Tennis towels for face are poor quality. Very scratchy. Other clubs have better towels and better food offerings.
Embarrassing when you host other clubs for TenCap and your offering five pretzel sticks. Art is lazy.
When I went to the gym last week, it smelled like raw sewage and the sauna was closed. I was disappointed and left. Focus on upkeep of the gym.
Improve maintenance.
Pool is taken up too much with lessons/teams.
Club runs out of clean towels too much.
Club closes too early.
Out of key chain tags for months... get real.
I really enjoy working out! The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Facilities are clean, staff friendly and helpful.
The Men's locker room needs a major overhaul, with lockers that lock, new locker doors that shut and a new sauna that is sanitary. Inside the lockers is another mess. Most are dirty, and missing a shelf or 2. Put down rubber mats by the men's hot tub to prevent falls as one goes to shower. There is always a pool of water by the hot tub and the first shower.
The swim suit appliance is always broken that wrings out a suit after swimming.
The indoor lap pool (large pool) is always dirty on the bottom, showing band-aids, sand, dirt and other debris. The ceiling is a mess and I hope nothing falls due to rust.
The staff is engaging, for the most part and willing to assist.
Weekend hours are lame, as a 6pm close is way too early.
Positives: Workout classes and these instructors: Group Active (Monica); Group Fight (Sarah); Cardio Kickboxing (Rebecca); Centergy (Dani); Core 30 (Kathi). These are the classes I attend weekly at Genesis South. I recommend all of them.
Negatives: Same issues I always mention but things never change. Who reads these surveys?
--PARKING LOT: Holes everywhere and some of them are craters now. I'm pretty sure this lot has never been resurfaced/repaired since Genesis took possession. It's embarrassing.
--CAR BREAK-INS: We've had several times that cars have been broken into over the past couple years. I was a victim. Signs need to be posted that informs members when this happens. Everyone needs to be aware and take precautions PLUS working security cameras need to be in place!
--FANS: Invest in some good fans for the workout rooms. Studio A had to give their fan to the "bike room" and we now have a little fan that wouldn't even cool a closet. Not safe for all the people who workout in Studio A, especially in the hot months.
The trainer I work with twice a week. He is professional and supportive and has seen me through several health issues. The staff is friendly and couteous.
The variety and large number of exercise machines, particularly ellipticals
Good equipment and love the pool for families. We also take swimming lessons and love that the option is available year round
Install a "baby monitor" or phone line from the locker rooms to the front desk for safety or in the event a locker won't open. I've been in the women's locker room having come out of the shower with just a towel on and my locker wouldn't open. There isn't always someone there to go to the desk and ask for someone to come with a key.
There have also been occasions when someone got overheated or maybe worked out a little too hard and felt faint or passed out. It wouldn't be very expensive to install a line of communication between the locker rooms and the desk for occasions such as these when a little help is needed.
Add an outdoor pool and outdoor tennis courts.
