Get the keys for the lockers. There are very many missing causing unavailable lockable lockers. The old system worked better with member cards to get a key.

Regularly vacuum and clean the locker room carpets. Otherwise I like the club a lot. Been a member for many years.

It looks like the shampoo and body wash are the same.

Some of the towels are in bad shape.

We've been members since late '90's
lately seems like more of the equipment is getting run down, and the club could use an overall "sprucing up"

I love that you offer water aerobics in the evening! Ortho dr suggested it for my knees (stupid arthritis) but no one offered evening classes and my job doesn’t allow for daytime ones!

Very clean, friendly staff, plenty of equipment!

I like that there are a variety of machines and a pool to get my cardio in.

It’s frustrating being a member of this club sometimes. I was there for water aerobics yesterday and NONE of the 3 hot tub jets work. In Studio A, where I take a fitness class, the walls are stained and some even have holes in them. I would be embarrassed to bring a friend to such a shoddy looking place. I keep hearing that nothing is going to get fixed until the next “renovation” happens - who knows when that will be. And after hearing about all the issues with the renovation at the Q street location, I’m not looking forward to what’s coming.

I like the classes. I like the instructors and the variety of class types and times.

I love the gym. Don't have many choices in Hutchinson. The club could use a refresh!!

All the improvements

Love Genesis! Have going for years and everyone is so nice and friendly! The training f program has helped a lot! I would recommend Genesis to others looking to start going a gym!

There is a lot of equipment which has been down and not fixed for a while! For example one of the stair steppers been down for months and other equipment. Seems like they are out dated. But I will still keep going there.

Convenient, clean, and has classes I enjoy.

All staff are friendly. The locker rooms are clean.

I wish you would patch or replace the seats on some of the machines.

The staff is great, no complaints at all. The issue is the equipment courtesy with other members- people are chatting away on machines for an hour or jumping between 2-3 machines during a rush hour, usually claiming each one with either their phone, water, or gym bag. It's getting a little ridiculous.

Again though, staff is super chill and the gym is taken care of nicely.

Need cleaner areas by sauna and steam room in the mens locker room. It legitimately smells rotten everyday I go in there, specifically by the chairs in front of the sauna. It’s god awful.

Convenient locations and great equipment.

Genesis took over 3 years ago. Prior to taking over it was communicated that the contracts that they were taking over would now have access to any and all Genesis locations. Genesis has 4 locations in the Des Moines metro; SE14th Street, Hickman, Merel Hay, and newly acquired off of Mills Civic. After the initial month it was communicated that because the contracts that they inherited were at a lower price from the Hickman location, these customers would not have access to the Mills Civic location.

Secondly, within the first year management had communicated that the facility would be getting a make over and receiving new equipment. This has not happened. In fact, in several cases it has taken several months to have existing equipment fixed. Additionally, some equipment that has broken has just been taken out and not replaced; i.e. Butter Fly Machine, Squat Press Machine, SSB Bar.

Next, the building has had several leaks in the roof and it has been consistently been communicated that it has been fixed. Currnetly there are buckets in hallways and stairways catching water dripping through the ceiling. They have to use caution tape to block off a doorway to one of the main stairways.

Lastly, there is an area that is not allowed for normal members without a membership that includes personal training even if there are no classes or personal training going on. In this area there is sleds for pushing, GHD Machine, several more squar racks, and cable fly machines.

Nothing gets fixed. The door lock to the outside pool needs replaced. The door has to be propped open so people don't get locked out. Burned out lights for over a year have not been replaced. Stationary bikes are not working properly. I know bikes have been order over 3 weeks ago and nothing has showed up. You won't accept silver sneakers, but all the rest of your gyms do. As of the first of the month I will not be entering your doors. I did not know I had to give a 30 day notice that I was leaving. That was a bummer. No one inform me when I joined that you needed to inform you 30 days ahead of time. I will not give this gym a good review and will not refer anyone to it.

I like how wide open it is and how spread out the equipment is. You don’t feel like you are working out right on top of someone else.

Our family had a couple unpleasant interactions with the general manager. We prefer to use other facilities now, if at all possible for our schedule. Plus there are very few classes offered.

The club needs maintenance. From latches on toilet partitions to non working tanning beds.
Also, some new equipment is needed. In the group workout room there aren’t complete dumbbell sets, and the ones there have dirty peeling covers. In the yoga room we are needing new straps and additional blocks. There aren’t enough of either - like the dumbbells they have been disappearing. I like the staff. I like the classes. I just feel the club has been neglected.
Someone needs to walk thru and make a comprehensive list of what needs to be repaired

It’s insane that only like three of the showers work. I don’t think anyone cares if they are fancy but it’s wild how Bad they are. Other than that great gym

Looking forward to what this gym looks like when renovations are completed by end of year.
