Genesis massively disappoints by not having a 21st century central booking/reservations, billing, payment, events system/app/interactive web, or etc. These early 1990's ways with silly printed out flyers that quickly become incorrect are losing customers. I KNOW people that have left for Elite just because you can book court time and events with an app there and the other systems are up to expectations. So many communications and coordination are spotty. You disappoint by having a bar that's incapable of even making a simple margarita, pina colada, or bloody mary. Long Island Tea. Salty dog. Mai Tai. Name about any mixed drink more than Rum and Coke and they stare at you like a lost dog. Just straight booze and beer don't cut it at all. Angry Orchard beer is so popular that it's on tap in Lawrence and Manhattan, at least have it in bottles. React to popular offerings. The vitals tracking system during cardio training quickly lapsed from use. It took an act of mass rebellion to even get water back on the courts. The tennis league organizers listen, acknowledge feedback, tell you it's great, swear to follow through, and then don't. Trophy's the lack of. Even Bowling leagues keep stats and have winners and special stat categories...you CAN'T do that for the hugely expensive tennis league play? What is it now almost $400 per player in addition to the cost of the privilege to enter the building. F-ed with openness of summer courts this year. That was some bad behavior. Famously screwing up the stable Thursday night men's league group with a rotten mix of 4.0 players added in made Michael walk off the court in the middle of the first set last week. In what mind was that even done. Apparently trying to treat Merriam and OP as one tennis facility - don't. I've not seen that fantastic video screen camera system work even one time. What can it do. No idea. Demonstration events? Not heard of one. Reserved for extra cost payment stuff - how about just adding an amenity because it makes things better? There used to be hitting lanes. There used to be racquetball. Over 30 years I've seen nothing but things removed from racquet sports and its amenities. The air conditioning system absolutely sucks or the usage of it stinks. When all the lipstick went on, why would upgrading the movement of air be ignored? Can the game score posts/placards on the courts be better maintained? Can the clocks on the courts be coordinated or even show the correct time? Search wi-fi clock on Amazon, they cost less than just one teams Triples entry fee! Could we get some courts with a lower cost Hawk-Eye like system on them (https://sportstechnologyblog.com/2020/09/07/an-overview-of-smart-tennis-courts-2020/), just some serve speed sensor displays would be so cool to see, and get amenity draws and buzz from our tennis community. No tennis players are NOT going to pay more for it, you owe US, we are the clubs greatest source of revenue, with a decent bar, court app/central web based systems, it'd be even more, and I have friends that are quitting and griping because of many little things. Please, it's time to get with the century that we're in Rodney.
Once Genesis took over the club majority of the staff was replaced and the club cleanliness immediately dropped. People don't like paying the same fee or more and having reduced gym quality.
What has been done is beautiful for the most part. There are a few misses!! The uneven floors between the tile and carpet in the lobby is a trip hazard. The tile floor in the locker rooms is extremely slippery and just an accident waiting to happen. Just put up curtains in the showers for goodness sakes. The showers are all different sizes so doors are going to be impossible. Just put up some curtains!!!!!! We could really use new water aerobics equipment as well as the ‘ropes” in the pool are an ugly mess!

When people want to use two towels don’t make them feel bad. I’m bigger and one towel will not cover me getting out of the shower. And, typically I bring my own but has forgotten and was treated awful.
Also, when people want to cancel- let them. When I came in to cancel I was met by two men who were demanding an answer on why I wanted to cancel. The last thing I want to do is talk to them about the humiliation. They wouldn’t let it go. It was so embarrassing.
I will never recommend this gym to anyone. It’s clearly only meant for the fit people. The gyms have completed plummeted since Miramont sold and Genesis took over.
Locker rooms are not well kept. Wish there were more yoga classes. The gym felt more quality when it was prairie life

The Barre class on Sat with Joanne. It’s clean - not over crowded. Nice snack shop.

You haven't made any changes on things that I've complained about previously here in the surveys, or anything from the on site suggestion box. Seats are ripping, parts are broken, handles cushions are missing, and olympic rings have not been level since I joined 3 years ago. I've recently cancelled my membership.
Unfortunately the gym has gone a bit down hill since you took over. More douches in the gym. They don’t re-rack weights or put things back. And with cutting the staff there is no one else there to do it either. So weights are everywhere, accessories are scattered everywhere, can’t find collars for all the bars. If you aren’t going to hold the clientele responsible for putting things back then you need the staff to reorganize the gym after the evening crew destroys it.
Carpets have not been cleaned in weeks, especially in the men's locker room. The drinking fountain has been not been cleaned and there are two broken pieces that have not been repaired for several months. Law enforcement showing up after a fight occurred also didn't lend to a family atmosphere. It seems like there's just quite an indifference to upkeep at the club.
Hours of operation could be improved. The club closes early especially on weekends.
I never wanted to join Genesis Health Clubs. I was perfectly happy with Prairie Life and then the Athletic Club was fine. The cleanliness and level of service has gone down while I am still paying for a top tier health club. Every time we go it seems like something else has broken. My wife seems to be getting a lot out of her personal training so I think we are going to stick with it but I'm so far not a fan. Also the childcare has gone downhill. There used to be way more workers and they would keep the older kids separate. Also I'm unhappy that they moved it from 3 hours to 2 hours.
Facility are not clean
Bring back extension machines back into the gym, and more slam balls!

I typically go to the aksarben location which consistently has broken down equipment and things aren’t fixed or replaced. It very much appears that they are not putting any extra resources into this location.
I enjoy the club, classes and camaraderie.
I like all the classes and the wonderful people I have met at Genesis.
If there is air conditioning, they aren't using it. It's been so hot in your facility I've been coming in a lot less, cannot shower after a workout because it's too hot, can't cool down enough to get dry, and the 2 fans they put in the locker room just aren't cutting it.
Keep the hot tub running, seems like it's broken down a LOT.
The facility is in shambles and the group fitness program has fallen apart.
Nice staff and lots of lifting equipment to choose from!
The reason I am a member of Genesis Health Clubs is because of the 515 a.m. group fitness classes Mon- Fri.
I would not be a member without those morning classes! All of the workout instructors are top notch!

Clean and organized. equipment selection and friendly trainers. Need more mirrors and a signs as friendly reminders of cell phone usage and machine occupancy while using mobile devices
Close to home and friendly staff
The pool is great for those of us who have had knee replacements. I get a full work out in the water aerobics classes. The staff are all friendly!
