The staff is wonderful, and I hope you don’t lose any more good people. We love our trainer, Matt.
The facility itself is filthy, and is in dire need of a thorough cleaning. My group is thinking of going elsewhere if something isn’t done immediately to clean the Last name removed.
The amenities. Towels, steam sauna, outdoor pool, track, etc.
By keeping most of the various rowing machines and stair steppers running. It would also be very helpful to have a regular pull up bar rather than the funky handles that currently exist on several of the machines and squat racks.
* The associates that work there aren't very friendly.
* Never any towels in the changing rooms.
* The pool water is always sporadic in temperature
$40 dollars to drop a family member. What a joke. The showers have mold growing on the tile on the floor. Yet your charge yearly for an enhancement fee. As a. business Genesis is run poorly
1. The personal trainers are very good, very professional.
2. The hours that the gym is open are very generous; it’s open almost all the time.
3. The variety of group fitness classes serve everybody, whether you are very good at them, or just a beginner.
4. The group classes are changed up frequently, so they are never repetitive or boring.
5. Genesis is a very welcoming environment.
6. The group class teachers, staff, and personal trainers are very encouraging, and offer personalized help.
7. The locker rooms are clean and tidy.
8. The shake/smoothie bar is convenient, yummy, and affordable.
Sometimes there aren’t any clean towels for the morning classes.
It looks updated compared to Hickman and west dsm clubs. Good mix of equipment that works. Has reusable towels for cleaning equipment instead of wasteful paper towels.
A privacy stall in the locker room would be nice for people who want privacy while changing clothes.
Back in 2020, the manager told me Genesis is building a new gym and He said new gym will be done in 18 months, it's been 2 years and we still working out in the same small gym that doesn't have upgraded machines. The AC doesn't work well in summer time. It's very disappointing this small Genesis gym in the south side of Des Moines.
Communication and honesty from owners on new club progress.
Fix equipment or replace.
When thinks change or happening no information given.
Front desk are great and instructors.
Communication is what your members are so upset about. Across all clubs in Des Moines area.
The trainers, cleanliness and hand towels. South tulsa needs new spin bikes
Diversity of equipment, options to use multiple clubs and the programs yoga, swimming, etc that are offered.
By far the best facility around. Genius’s North is mint from the staff, to the equipment, to the facility itself. From the ownership, to management, to the trainers, by far the nicest and most knowledgeable staff in the business today. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Genesis to anyone. I am certainly satisfied thus far and have been blown away by my experience at this facility.
There are many things I like about this gym. However, the women's locker room is very dirty almost all the time, especially the steam room, which seems like it's never cleaned. Also, the towels are old, rough and threadbare. Sometimes dirty towels are piled so high in the locker room the they are overflowing from the containers. The drains in the showers are often covered with hair. It's disgusting.
Please stay on top of cleaning in the locker room.
Have more space between machines so they're not literally right on top of each other.
Maintenance and replacement of equipment
Yoga classes, sauna in locker room, whirlpool in locker room, indoor pool, weight machines.
The front desk people always know everyone and are very friendly.
And I love the classes
Get a new manager who cares about the place. That would be a good start.
You wont do that, so good luck.
Must fix up the physical space. The classes and trainers are very good, and the tennis program is the best in Iowa. But you must improve the space. You will lose and/or not attract new clients if the space is not upgraded
Need more 45 lg weights.
Multiple classes available.
-Many machines are missing book/iPad racks
-don’t feel like machines/facility cleaned very well; foot racks on machines filled w dirt, hair/dirt on floors
The staff and the different equipment they have
Some areas feel outdated, for example it is hard to keep the building cool during the summer and the parking lot needs filled so badly. Also I hate that Fox News is always playing
Clean
Often times there aren't any towels. The locker rooms are often a mess with towels and other misc items. The restrooms in those locker rooms are often gross in the manner of urine smell and dirty floors. The training are is not real organized, but that is also due in part to the members.
Hours, pool, staff is very friendly
Showers have been out of commission for four or five months (1/3 of a year). I get that things take time… but that’s really a long time to have to go back home after a workout for a shower. On the positive side, it’s nice that you’ve fixed the leaks in the roof and most of the cardio machines are working well. Front desk staff continues to be exceptionally friendly.
It’s clean
