As a member before the remodel, it’s great seeing what this club has turned into. The 84th and Q St. location has a very modern, clean facility.
The club is old, not very well maintained. A lot of the equipment is out of order always. Sometimes the A/C doesn’t work well. I go there because of Reuben, my personal trainer.

I like the helpful attitude of staff, and everyone is so friendly! I feel a sense of community when I come to work out. I had a personal trainer for about 3 months and it was a very good experience. I am new to the whole fitness world and I needed someone to show me how things work. All of the trainers are caring and helpful, even if you don't pay for personal training.
I love the classes, lots of variety with all great instructors. I have also done 2 PT sessions with Nick. He is smart, friendly, knows what he’s doing, and works around my injuries with ease. Anyone looking for a personal trainer, ask for Nick.
The overall cleanliness of the facility was lacking as well as old and damaged equipment is very disappointing especially considering the ridgeview location is supposed to be one of the nicer more premium locations. I have been to cleaner and more well kept planet fitness locations which makes me not want to pay the $65-$70/month I pay to go to Genesis.
I have noticed equipment either needs replaced or fixed. Specifically the padding or benches.
Seems broken equipment is repaired, thank you. I understand things break. I just would like to see quicker fixes.
Tennis facilities and instructors are great! Like the overall atmosphere of the club. Like the availability of personal training. Like the size of the club--not too big or small.
It would be nice if the music piped into the weight room weren't so loud. Most everyone in there already has earbuds or headphones on so they're not listening to it anyway. Would also appreciate more variety in the music - I've only ever heard one genre and that gets a bit dull.
Another thing I'd like to see remedied -- placement of equipment in the west part of the weightroom. For example, the two seated machines for abductor/adductor, are placed right by the weight-bearing pole. If you have two people trying to shoot the gap right in that location, it's hard and awkward -- an odd placement that was not well thought out. Another is the pec machine which is adjacent to the mirrored wall, still in the west part of the weight room but where you'd access the east side. Here again, there's sort of an obvious walk way except that machine totally blocks access because often someone's on it. Even if there is no one using it, part of the equipment is sticking out so you have to navigate around it. Again, seems that whoever did the layout either was careless or did not foresee (somehow) how the placement of these machines would impede traffic and movement. Lastly, the entire facility is loud! When people are in the gym playing basketball or if there are classes in there (often including music and mic'd instruction) that noise permeates the weight room and even the upstairs where the treadmills and ellipticals are on the south end of the gym. I would love to see some clear plexiglass sound barriers installed along the railing. The Fort Collins Club was way more 'Zen' than Genesis is and I really miss that. Now my workouts contain a lot of unwanted noise and distraction. Thank you for asking. I'd be thrilled if you could make some (if not all) of the changes I have suggested.
Cutting corners: operationally, staffing/training, absence of preventative maintenance and upgrading decrepit pool systems and air handling units.
The club’s appearance has been stripped of its welcoming ambiance and knowledgeable and collaborative staff.
Overall attention to the facility’s condition, cleanliness and valuing staff seems to be very deficient. Is it difficult to look up and see the ceiling vents are dirty & fuzzy, or to reattach shower tiles in changing rooms near the indoor pool, fix or replace non-working window shades, etc?
Employee empowerment and development seem to be nonexistent - how can staff be successful without the necessary resources and support? The “band-aid” approach is not working and costing more $$ in the long-run, causing more member dissatisfaction, loss of loyal members and respect and pride from the community.
The owners need to be more present, focused, member-centric, interested in hiring qualified employees with expertise in the positions they occupy, empowering the managers by trusting them to use their best judgement and providing them the resources they need, understand providing world class customer service while applying ethical, sound and long-lasting business practices are paramount to survive this competitive market…“we’re not in Kansas anymore Toto”!
Better maintenance. Lockers in Men’s room are almost unusable. Equipment is showing significant wear and tear. Heat & air works but only sometimes.
It’s very rundown
Cleanliness has been a recent issue as it appears the surface things still get cleaned but the underlying stuff does not. Example: the tile walls out by the hot tub have had the same scuff marks and dirt on them for 5-6 months or longer. The concrete floor gets hosed down but the dirt on the walls seem to be there forever. I am not a clean freak or germaphobe but I do notice this and it does not get cleaned. Maybe a once-a-month deeper cleaning should be done.
South is a mess, mens steam room either is unbearably hot or doesn't work at all. The hot tub is constantly down for maintenance, lights and shower fixtures are in disrepair (mens locker room) Towel service is spotty. The computers on the spin bikes are often not working. The facility is in need of a major overhaul….and you charge more for membership there?!
Yoga classes although I wish there were more restorative/yin yoga classes after 6pm weeknights. I like the clean smell of the gym, and treadmill and row machine availability
Remodel the bathrooms and locker rooms.
The classes. And the space in general is nice. I go in the mornings and it never feels crowded

1. The showers have Little to No Pressure, it just drips water you can barely rinse your body.
2. The jacuzzi is CONTISTENCY GREEN.
3. Towels have been empty when we have aqua classes and on MWF up to 30 people per class.
Great variety of equipment and terrific classes
Tara Plaza needs to be updated and expanded. It’s overcrowded more since Shawdow Lake closed. I also liked the spin bikes better at Shawdow Lake.
Improvements to the bldg inside are needed. When I joined two and a half years ago they were going to remodel shortly after that and it still has not happened. The building has so many leaks and is in desperate need of physical improvements.
Renovating/modernizing most of the North OP location.
I love the classes that are offered....everything is accommodating.

Staff is very friendly but otherwise not always a great experience. I usually have to factor in an extra ~10 minutes per workout to wait on others to be done with equipment. There are several awesome patrons but I’ve already have a few negative experiences with various men approaching me in a way that makes me uncomfortable- one told me two different times he was using the machine I just started using, then said he was doing a circuit with 4 different machines and I couldn’t use any of them; one man putting his phone on top of my gym bag, several men standing unnecessarily close. Overall just not a great experience, hoping it will improve by the time my contract is up.
