The gym is very dirty and dusty. Leaks in roof, dirt, and dust everywhere. Equipment is amazing. Sometimes equipment waits for a while to get fixed.
Well it always smells in the gym. The locker room floor has mold on it the ceiling tiles have mold on them. The cycling room does not get properly cleaned. The cleaning supplies in the cycling rooms are slim to none. Members are sweeping the floors in there. Some toilets and workout machines are broke not not being fixed. In the cycling room some bikes are broken. Members are fixing bikes replacing batteries and piecing together bikes to have as many up and working as possible. There are some great instructors that the classes fill up fast for their classes and it is disappointing when the bikes are broke.
The Hickman location has really old, broken, and dirty equipment. We’ve been told it would be updated and changed and have not seen that.
The locker rooms need updated. More variety in the evening classes would be great.
When equipment wears out, please replace it. Slam ball wear out and are not replaced. When equipment breaks, please fix it. the swim suit spin dryer has been broken for months. And for some reason the hot tub, and sauna are permanently shut off. So we pay the same amount, but we have less equipment to work with? hmm
My personal trainer has been great helping me to obtain strength goals and weight control.
Love the Hickman location!
Good equipment, great location. Staff are friendly. Gym seems clean and is mostly well maintained
Equiptment could use upgrades, and memberships are way too expensive for what you get. When Genesis was Aspen, it was 1/5 of the price and had the exact same amenities. Guest passes should be a service the gym offers.
Make people follow rules. You state that gym bags aren't allowed in the workout area but I see gym bags everywhere. They take up space, people reserve equipment when not using it, etc.
Also, my wife has reached out to management multiple times for a refund or a credit of monthly dues based on the fact that her personal trainer quit Genesis and she only liked working with him. Please reply to customer's emails as it is unprofessional to not do so.
Broken equipment
People forget to show up in the morning to unlock the gym. Happened more than once where I arrive at 6 and no shows up to unlock it so the crowd of people have to go home. 2-3 showers were broken all the time in the men’s locker room and took almost a year for them to finally fix it (stopped going to this location so I don’t know if they are fixed yet or not) I scheduled a free trainer more than once with the Aksarben location and no one ever showed up.
The club is always clean with adequate equipment and space to complete any exercise.
You need to fix the A/C which is long overdue. I took a class in Studio 1 the other day and it was 80 degrees in the room. That’s absolutely ridiculous for one of the most expensive gym in Fort Collins. At this point, I’m considering leaving for another gym just because of that issue alone which has been going on for months!
More squat and deadlift platforms.
Also, *a lot* people seem to just leave weights already in the machine they were using (eg, I always see barbell benches with weights on them, giving the impression that someone is using them when nobody is. I've talked to other Genesis members and they complained about this too
Variety of machines
& equipment!
The front desk people are friendly and Greta makes the classes so fun! She is a great instructor!
Senior fitness classes
I love the classes and the range of equipment at Genesis North, however the gym doesn't look or feel as clean as Genesis South. I'm specifically thinking of the floor area upstairs in the cardio section - lots of dirt and dust seen in the cracks and crevasses around outlets. Some of the cardio machines aren't functioning in regard to reading heartbeats and changing menus.
There has also been unreasonable delays in adjusting or changing automatic membership payments.
Everything. A ton of amenities that other clubs don’t have. Love the kids area. Great variety of machines. Saunas.
been going to the Fort Collins Club for many years, it was desperately in need of a remodel and updated equipment, Genesis took over and made it one of the best in town, plus the patio and the outdoor pool in the summer is alot of fun
1. Location
2. Friendly Genesis employees
3. Wide variety of weight machines
The building needs a lot of work and is "falling apart." When equipment is damaged or needs repaired, it takes months for it to get sorted out. When equipment eventually gets replaced it ends up being used and not keeping up with the trends in other gyms. The parking lot is a mess and the stripes are fading away so it is hard to even park a vehicle there. On top of all this they still charge top prices that BRAND NEW facilities charge per month. It seems like there are excuses for every problem and I am likely going to cancel my membership.
24 hours operating hours.
Your A/C was terrible during the summer.
No drinking fountain in that place works appropriately.
Your equipment(handles, grips, bars) is either destroyed or missing and need replaced
The whole facility needs cleaned. The air conditioning does not work in the locker rooms. Jets in the hot tub do not work. The water in the pool was never clean it’s always cloudy. The walls in the floor in the locker room are always in need of a clean and a fourth of the lockers actually work. I do Expect to see an improvement in this location.
The locker rooms need improvement, especially the ones by the pool, which are great for when we have swim lessons with multiple kids. The kids club hours should be expanded, the date night people never returned my email (I’m assuming it’s a good service…we’d like to use it), the swim lanes should be by reservation again, the mighty kids camp could use better communication with parents (I have an unanswered email there too), and the personal training prices should be reduced (or you should run more promotions like the BOGOs you used to do).
It's very personal without everyone judging. I was going steady for almost a year and then stopped going due to circumstances. When I came back the staff was amazing, happy to see me, told me I could do it. There was no judgement of anything. My previous personal trainer, Jared - who I love, set me up with a new trainer, Nicholas, because of financial reasons. He took the time to make sure I had someone who would fit with my personality and abilities. I now am in love with Nicholas. It also means a lot that Jared still checks on me, still helps, still encourages. Nicholas is wonderful. He's made a plan for me, listens to me, encourages me. This staff at the gym 100% why I like going there.
Genesis has all the amenities I could ask for including a full weight room, Zumba and friendly Gymgoers. They work diligently to create a community atmosphere that keeps people coming back. The instructors are the best! Looking forward to the Winter Arc!
Gym is completely outdated. Equipment is old and locker room is terrible. All the lockers are taken despite only a few cars in the parking lot. Even the towels they provide are falling apart. Last time I went, one week ago, there was a lot of grasshoppers in the gym near the free weights. I have changed location since
