Size of facility and variety and quantity of equipment
Loved the improvement to the gym. The only thing that could have been improved was letting people know the saunas were not open yet.
The men’s locker room has become increasingly unpleasant. Half the stuff doesn’t work most of the time. Whirlpool was down for weeks. Half the showers don’t work. And when they do work, it’s either scalding hot water or cold. There appears to be a substantial amount of mold growing on the ceiling. It’s just not a pleasant place to be anymore. Anytime it rains, the ceiling upstairs leaks in numerous places. You never know if you’ll get a towel at the front desk or not. I keep hearing rumors that some remodeling is supposed to start soon. It needs it.
it’s dirty
This gym has progressively gotten worse over the last year. It is too overpacked because Genesis constantly pressures their employees to sign up new members. Equipment is always taken since there are too many people. A/C feels like its been broke for the whole summer. Bathrooms are constantly dirty with hair and trash that people leave behind. Soap is always out in the dispensers. Towels are as thin as paper towels and now there's a 2 limit per person.
I wish the gym would leave towels in the locker room like Lifetime. There are way too many naked old dudes that walk around the locker room and leaving towels in the locker room can help change that.
I give it a 6 overall because the equipment is in great condition and there is plenty of different pieces of equipment (even though there's a lot its still overpacked). Gym culture is great and the front desk people are very nice even though quite clueless on their policies. Main improvements would be to stop signing every single person up for so cheap that it becomes too packed, to clean up the bathrooms and constantly replace/fix the amenities in the bathrooms. This gym is a lot of money per month and doesn't nearly compete with Lifetime for the price we pay. I would have switched a while ago but this location is perfect.
Bring back the Genesis North basketball courts.
Some building updates are needed. Bring back the safety squat bar and GHR!

Better cleaning for a start. Womens showers need fixing.

- Not enough squat racks. Would prefer if the benches were replaced with squat racks.
- Shower is kind of nasty, always has mold.
- Machines break quite frequently and go unfixed or replaced for long periods.
- Extra clasps (especially metal ones) would be good, as the gym feels short a set or two and have ti hunt for them. The metal ones grip the bars better than plastic and would be my preferred choice.
I do like that some of the bars have been recently replaced and feel it’d be worth replacing the rest
For the amount of my membership ($55/month) I would expect to have functioning equipment. Most of the time multiple machines are down and in need of repair. For that matter, newer equipment would be nice also. Every other gym I’ve been to stays up to date. I’ll be leaving a soon as Chiefs Fit opens.
Bring back body combat twice a week at 5:15am

After going here for at least the last five years I was put off when a trainer told me I was not welcome to use the area next to the treadmills because I did not have a personal trainer there. I only use it for the row machines and occasionally precor. I was never in the way and kept to myself. I have moved to Merle Hay location and find that location much more inviting.
The club could use a good cleaning. The fans in studio A are filled with black lint. I am surprise they still operate!
The carpet in entry and in women’s locker room are dirty and unattractive.
On a positive note, the employees are pleasant and greet users as they enter. Instructors in the fitness class are top notch.
This summer enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool.
Both massage chairs at the front have been BROKEN FOR OVER A YEAR! Whenever you ask the staff says they don't know anything about it or parts are on order. For a year! You cant keep the heat up in the steam room. You cant even keep it clean enough to step into most weeks. You clearly don't have a cleaning schedule for the steam room or the hot tubs. You are constantly out of clean towels at the front desk... I have had at least 10 people ask me about that place over the last 3 years and I have told them NOT to go there.

Staff is always pretty friendly and the club is clean
Complete construction! Get Suana and hot tub completed and available for use. Check equipment for problems. Some of the machines have pieces coming off, one lifestider squeeks terribly.
I love the swimming pool.
Openness, variety of fitness equipment and classes but need more workout bands and foam rollers. Love the shower area, clean, private, towels provided, and keys. Sanitizer and wipes always available.
I like how everything is arranged and kept clean

Fix the broken stuff, like shower heads and handles, repair the vinyl on the equipment.
