I like the variety of music and the consistency in the teachers and administration. I like the flexibility in scheduling as well as the teachers' engagement with my son. I like that my son is actually encouraged to try out new instruments.
I love the grad school program. It is challenging but you feel like you are in a band with friends. The one on one teaching style with modeling makes learning music less daunting.
The list is long; SOR Southlake/Keller nor Marty are worth the effort. As soon as this season is finished, we will be leaving this location.
split the advanced program bands in half so there are not 20+ members in one band.
It's a great way to teach kids music while having fun.
School of Rock is unique in that it allows kids the opportunity to play in an actual live music setting.
I am very appreciative of both Susy and Nick. Nick, for the attention he showed Tyler during lessons and Susy for helping me schedule Tyler around his busy schedule. They are truly an asset to the school's success with both students and parents.
It is costly for college students like me. I pay for it all myself.
The receptionist and instructors are friendly. My daughter really enjoys her private drum lessons and Rock Band 102. The instructors make learning an instrument fun. I also appreciate that they give the parents an update of what was covered during the lesson. School of Rock Mansfield is the best!
More than a few billing mistakes on our accounts.
The kids tend to build a lot of confidence
My children love it. The beg to go, they look forward to it, and love the staff. They take their teachers seriously and their lessons. They have made many friends too. This makes my happy and I tell everyone how much they love it.
Team at SOR is clearly committed to what they do.
The people make the difference! Everyone is passionate about educating our kids, but in a fun engaging way. My son is enthusiastic about practicing, and doesn't consider it "practicing. "
More flexibility with the choice of songs.
Toition is too expensive.
Policy of cancellations was not clear enough at time of registration
Policy of make up lesson should include the opportunity to do the make up lesson before the time of the lesson that was cancelled
Our son needed a music program that would fit a young adults musical tastes and also act as a "play/music" therapy after having a catastrophic accident and oxygen deficit injury. As our needs were very different from the average students needs, we were so impressed by the way the teachers and staff at Southlake SOR have been able to taylor his lessons. They have really gone over and above for him(as I think they do ALL students). Thank you for all your hard work in helping us as parents raise children to be multifaceted, confident, and lifelong music appreciators
The kids get to go on stage and actually perform
Excellent school nothing but greatness!
School of Rock Southlake/Keller has been a huge plus for our son Sam. It has helped take his passion for music to another level, and has brought discipline, many new friends, fun and significantly improved musicianship to Sam.
The Summer Tour is something he will never forget.
His Mom and I love attending the shows as well, we'll miss it when he's too old to attend!
A special thank you to Marty Morris, who has done a fantastic job with Sam, and with SOR.
I love that kids get to show off their hard work at cool venues!
SOR uses a unique approach to teaching kids about music! Rather than taking months of lessons to prepare for a performance, the kids are placed in a band right away where they learn quickly how to perform and develop their skills. And more than just an individual song, the kids learn about the culture and significance of the bands and songs they perform. SOR has given my child a priceless and lifelong appreciation for music that I can't imagine how he would have gained otherwise. He has gained confidence and friendships that are so important. Highly recommend SOR to anyone!
I love the fact the kids can play live concert.
Not stuck in a generational rut, willing to learn 90's, 2000-to current. Would like to see more discussions about setting up for Gigs, how to negotiate gigs, "the nature of the biz".
This is not just music tuition, it is the full package. It’s about the performance, working as a band, developing capabilities with new sounds and instruments, and widening knowledge of the music that inspires them.
Well-organized, fun and great people involved in this location. Keep up the great work with the kids!
Love the cool atmosphere... The staff and instructors make my son feel comfortable and at home, it has a great vibe and he's learning so much, I can already tell a difference in such a short time.
The staff are wonderful. The environment feels right and John Clardy is awesome.
The musical challenges. It's amazing to watch how the children improve with each season!
I have two kids at SOR--a 4th grade boy and 10th grade girl. Because of the difference in my kids, not to mention one plays guitar and one drums, I can honestly attest to the growth they have experienced since starting there. The teachers are invested, the manager is involved in the best of ways, the staff/administration is available and eager to assist with any needs. But the best part of the experience as a parent is getting to watch your kids perform regularly. This is where I think the biggest growth occurs--musicians performing among their peers. It's a great program!
I like the combination of private lessons and group lessons..win,win
