Great music programs!
I am a beginner and enrolled I. Private lessons and the adult band program. I don’t feel I get much out of the lessons...usually end up googling how to’s on my own.
They should recommend lessons for a certain amount of time prior to letting you sign up for the band program. I can’t play anything yet so the band practice is a waste of time and money for me. Also absolutely no instruction on your part of your song “ I am having to figure it out”. How am I supposed to do that.
Quite unimpressed
Performance aspect makes learning the music fun!
I like it all. Awesome teachers and staffs.
The performances, the fact that the students learn songs to play at Lewisville ve shows. This gives great incentive to practice and learn.. more fun
My 10yo son has so much fun at School of Rock! He loves playing with a group and going to his private guitar lesson, and he also practices when asked, he doesn't want to let his group down. He loves getting to learn to play his favorite songs, and explains music theory to me when we're listening to songs in the car, so I know he's really absorbing what he's being taught. The performance opportunity is priceless, and he's developing more and more self confidence the more he sticks with it. You've got a terrific program that inspires and supports young people's interest in music, it's got all the bases covered and we couldn't be happier.
The kids show no improvements after many months.
fun, kids get to interact in a fun environment and gain self confidence as they perform on stage.
The students learn music from songs rather than a book or scales.
This program was just something to help our son have an activity after going from a full school program to a Academic Charter with few activities. We have been here now almost 3/4 years now, in House band several instruments and had great experiences. Wonderful school, program and fantastic staff and Teachers.
The perfect way to learn music and an insutrumrnt is through the band programs. It offers a social outlet and motivation to excel in music.
Communication is great from teachers and staff. Thanks
My kids absolutely love it at the School of Rock. We are going on 4 years with them and haven’t regretted one single minute. The staff is great with the kids. My kids feel safe there and can totally be 100% themselves. They have learned so much since starting. The School of Rocks program is amazing with helping kids boost their confidence. I would recommend to anyone looking to future their kids music education.
My kids enjoyed their music camp. Wish the offered a camp for older and kids with more musical experience separate from the younger or less experienced kids.
Great staff and atmosphere!!
A great place to learn and grow. Wonderful teachers and staff. Can't say enough great things about the Southlake/Keller location. So glad to be part of this amazing music experience. Our family has loved it and will continue to for a very long time.
I love the program it is unlike any other.
Everything! Great program and even greater staff.
Its combination of 1 on 1 lessons and real gigs at live venues.
The instructors are amazing with the kids! No other music school does what School of Rock does.
Communication with greater clarity.
My child does not always fully understand what she’s meant to be doing.
Having watched some shows, do not get a strong impression that production value is heavily encouraged.
The teachers were wildly inconsistent, the method is haphazard. My students didn’t learn fundamental skills for their instruments. “Band Practice” when it was still in-person was a mess and my kid didn’t feel safe because poor/violent/bullying conduct was allowed by the instructor. Band practice remotely was a few poorly behaved children being disruptive and/or vulgar on a video conference and my kid bailed early most of the time because he was bored. The rest of the time he was playing his instrument while “on mute,” waiting for everyone else to do anything other than be obnoxious and talk over each other.
In short: We quit because we spend thousands of dollars to not learn instruments in an environment where my kid didn’t feel safe. Failure all the way around.
First the price is really high for only one class a week. The other thing is the teacher which has canceled twice on me. I would have thought for that money much I would at least been able to have two classes a week. I would also like a teacher who doesn’t cancel on me the day of my lesson. So far with these classes I have had maybe 2 classes, I think the fact that I have had only two classes I would like to get what I pay for., I hope this helps
Well, we just started at School of Rock but the environment at the new place and the instructors are awesome!
Great instructors! Just a little on the expensive side.
I believe you are invested in the kids. My only complaint is during the shows at times it's hard to hear the singers because the other instruments are too load.
Great Teachers and the school fosters a sense of community with the students.
The program has excellent teachers that listen to and inspire the kids, and teaches teamwork and interpersonal skills in a fun, creative, accepting environment.
The exposure and courage it gives to the kids. How they experience what being a musician would be like. The family environment they feel. How they change completely, day by day, since they join, they start becoming empowered and passionate about it.
Amazing teachers, programs, and facilities!
