We sincerely appreciated the Care that was given to my Mother by Raja, Sunita, Thelma and Sandy. They were attentive, professional, caring. It was with their care that my Mother has recovered miraculously from her injury. They also gave excellent support to family who assisted in her care. What a great team !
There were a couple of less than satisfactory nurses.
There were also a couple of exemplary ones.
And so, as always happens, the good ones are brought down by the not so good
My "nurse next door," Jennifer, was simply wonderful. Cheerfully completed all her tasks and taught me some yoga stretches. Very helpful.
We have a wonderful caregiver, but
1. It would be nice to have follow up from the care designer once or twice a year
2. There should be a note on our file, so we don't get unnecessary & really irritating calls from schedulers
Staff have been very attentive and compassionate!
Some caregivers are more on the ball than others and the arrival times are not always accurate,as in yesterday I was informed that it was 8 am but had been changed to 9 without our knowledge. However the quality of care is good and much appreciated.
Nurses are very professional, with sense expertise and very reliable. They are so nice
The personalized service.
The ladies are always on time, efficient and helpful. I’m happy with them.
The care aides are very compassionate and attentive to the needs of the client. They are very reliable and willing to work around scheduling.
poor service consistency
I gave this score as i was very pleased with all the nurses .
I felt the name NURSE NEXT DOOR was very deceptive, and what your rates were based on, i.e. NURSING services. So you costs were over-priced. What I needed when I first came home from the hospital with my 5 cracked ribs was someone to help me with cleaning, laundry services, and grocery shopping and other tasks of this type which i am well familiar to gals providing these services in my condo complex at $25 an hour and the lady performing them earned all the money for herself for the services she provided.
the nurse was very friendly and easy to visit with on the trip back to the airport .was totally on time to pick me up
I get no reports on what things are happening which I have requested in the past. I need feedback and a feel for the day to day needs and progression of health and mental needs. What are the caregivers concerns and challenges?
When the caregivers showed up, they were great, However regular attendance was spotty and we could not count on a caregiver showing up at all.On an occasion or two we were advised that the nurse had called in sick on the day we expected her! Hardly professional or covid friendly
The girls that come to my place do a very good job and are very nice.
different nurses every time so no continuity or relationship. They only do personal health care instead of anything that is needed, creating extra cost having to hire other care workers. Hourly rate far more expensive than other care givers
There is a lack of communication between the company and the client. My mom has had a few care givers already and now she's getting another one. We never heard from the company to let us know, my mom was told by the care giver herself she was leaving. I shouldn't be the one to follow up and find out who the new care giver will be. I emailed Lauren and she said she would have the scheduling team send me a calendar. The scheduling team sent me a calendar with two (2) different names on it. It's easier on my mom with one person so I had to send Lauren another email stating that and scheduling sent another one. We need someone that has a clear voice for my mom as she has troubles hearing, even with hearing aids. I felt Lauren should've contacted either my mom or myself to let us know what was happening. Also, with COVID shouldn't it be 1 person going to a senior's home? Are masks not mandatory for the care givers coming into my mom's house?
My mom is high risk.
I also wanted to point out in the very beginning with Nurse Next Door, my mom wasn't receiving any invoices. All of a sudden I was receiving them via email. At that time I sent an email explaining invoices need to go directly to my mom via Canada Post. Then I rec'd an email letting us know my mom's account was overdue. It wasn't a very nice email either. I had sent a letter about that awhile ago but never even received a reply. No apologies, nothing but my mom was left with a hefty invoice and had to be paid ASAP. We had to spend a lot of time going through the invoices she had paid with her cheque numbers and there was a ton of invoices that she never ever received. That was all taken care of but there was no follow up or explanation as to why this happened.
So far the overall experience with Nurse Next Door has not been a pleasant one.
It was sometimes more disruptive than helpful to have a different person come almost every time.
Caring, experienced and compassionate
My “ nurse next door” is terrific! She’s good with my dog and very helpful with laundry, meal preparation, showers, and jigsaw puzzles.
The nurse assigned to me had no idea what to do. I just came home after a major surgery and needed a competent nurse to make sure I’m ok at home. She just sat there and looked at her phone. I asked her to leave after one hour. A complete joke compare to other nursing services I have used.
The care aides' friendliness and compassion.
Bri is great
I love nurse next door because their service is very good .we are so happy and appreciate.........
The carer (Jennifer) is kind, patient, and competent. She is very pleasant and my husband enjoys spending time with her. She is also very helpful to me, by providing both household help and respite. Jennifer is truly helping me to maintain my sanity!
The first visit went poorly as the nurse seemed ill-equipped to deal with a dementia sufferer. Several basics recommended by the Alz Soc were not followed. I shared my concerns with the nurse at the end of the visit and also sent a memo to the supervisor (?) Marika.
The second visit was much improved - clearly my concerns were heard.
Give us a couple more visits and I hope we'll be up to an 8 or 9.
We are in this to make it work... thanks
I appreciate the care my Mother is receiving.

You listened and resolved our initial problems successfully. We now have an individual well suited to our needs ... very happy.
