The customer service was truly excellent and the bike came very well packaged with all the tools making it easier to assemble. I found that the website listing did not accurately reflect the component group (groupset was actually an older model/generation than website said) that was actually installed on the bike, which was disappointing, but it was a relatively minor issue so overall I’m happy. I also found that some of the propriety technology, like the seat mast clamp was not advertised so when I received the bike I wasn’t able to install an existing saddle as hoped. This means an additional cost to upgrade to a new saddle or parts to adapt to mine. When you have valuable parts that are unique to your fit/function, you hope to continue using them.
Bontrager is decent in general but some of the companies that specialize in certain components/parts do a better job of delivering performance for value. All things considered, I would recommend Trek and the experience to others.
