I was really happy with the people who were helping us in the store. We got two pair of Hokas that day. One for my granddaughter and another pair for me. They took their time, and talked to us through getting just the right fit.
The associate I had was nice, did not do anything rude whatsoever, but didn't "personalize" my experience like I had been told was to be expected at Fleet Feet. When I came in and said I was looking for trail shoes, I was told, "I don't know much about those, but you can look and I guess pick out what you think looks best". Didn't exactly set the tone for a "Wow, this is going to be super helpful" type of experience, which played out when I was told Altra's had "little heel drop" when one of their main selling points is zero drop in all their shoes. At least he was honest, but I quickly realized I could have gone anywhere and got the same shoe buying experience.
When I did try some on there was no questioning of "how do they feel? What do you like or dislike about them? Etc". I mentioned I signed up for a 50 mile ultra trail run, hence the trail shoes, and no follow up questions of "what do you normally run? What shoes typically do you like? What are you looking to get out of these shoes?" Etc. On my way out I noticed the section of nutrition/hydration, but at that point didn't trust the guy to make any recommendations, but had he been thinking when I said "50 mile run" it would have been an easy personalization to ask about things such as socks, nutrition, shirts, etc. So even after not knowing much about trail shoes he could have continued to personalize the experience.
So to recap, very nice. Store was very clean. No issues there. Just didn't have much of a different feel than 2 days before when I was at Academy with my wife finding her some shoes. Felt like my own salesman. Have been told this was not normal and to give y'all another try, which I'm passionate enough about running that I probably will, but unfortunately I didn't leave with the attitude of recommending the store to others.
Sorry to be longwinded, just am passionate about running and want to see this place be as successful as possible to grow our sport even further. Thank you for listening!

Great customer service. Was able find exactly what I needed.
I received much needed one on one attention in regards to proper foot wear for my walking and foot needs. The staff member I worked with was very knowledgeable and attentive. He listened to my ailments and asked me all the right questions and talked to me about what shoes would work best. He also let me try on every shoe in the store with a smile on his face!
