Exceptional Team Members
• Marcus (Salesperson Extraordinaire): Marcus was fantastic. He patiently answered all our questions and helped us secure a great price. His expertise, honesty and friendly approach made the buying process smooth and enjoyable.
• Justin (Financier and “Cliff Talker”): Justin was incredibly patient with all our questions, especially when we raised concerns about General RV’s service department Yelp rating. He walked us through the financing options clearly and helped us understand everything thoroughly.
• Aaron (Parts Specialist): Aaron was straightforward and helpful, providing a clear list of must-have, nice-to-have, and cool items for our RV. His no-nonsense attitude was refreshing and very useful.
• Jim (Walk-Through Expert): Jim gave us a thorough walk-through of the RV and explained all the features in detail, ensuring we felt confident with our purchase.
• Andrew (Insurance Specialist): Andrew was amazing at finding the best insurance coverage and deductible combination within our budget. His expertise made a complicated process much easier.
• Front Desk Team: The ladies at the front desk were attentive and helpful throughout. Even though they initially spelled our name incorrectly, they quickly fixed it and kept the atmosphere light with some friendly teasing.
Areas for Improvement
While the overall experience was great, the cleanliness and attention to detail inside the RV could use some work. There were issues like the time wasn’t set in the clock, caulk around the outside lights and smeared on a window, and a receptacle so dusty that I initially thought its color was off. Improving these small details would elevate the customer experience significantly.
Final Thoughts
General RV in Wayland offers excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of helpful programs that make RV ownership easier and more enjoyable - especially for a first time buyer. With a bit more focus on the finishing touches and cleanliness, they would be absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the market for an RV
James Brown our sales guy and Joey, our finance guy were great. I had to ask Brian, who did our walkthrough three times about a small missing part. Each time he said he'd take care of it but he never did and we left without it. Considering how much we had just spent I was very disappointed. Also, the tech guys had trouble getting our truck to connect with the trailer. Eventually the said it was fixed but when we were getting ready to leave for home the problem returned. By this time the service department had closed and I was able to flag down Michael, who was our liaison with service. He said he was not a mechanic and tried his best to help us. We drove over two hours with an intermittent connection that was beeping constantly with not knowing if the lights and brakes on the trailer were working properly. It was very stressful especially considering that we had never towed anything as long or heavy as the trailer. I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Overall the price was fair and the trailer is beautiful.

I purchased some RV supplies at the store section of General RV. I was pleased that the store was stocked with everything I needed. More than that, the lady at the checkout counter was pleasant and friendly and (as I told her) she put a great “face” on the company. In my opinion, the “good feeling” way a person leaves a business is as important as the goods they purchased, because it means they will return to purchase more!
Overall a great experience.

I recently bought my Thor Quantum SE21 RV in April of this year. In the couple times I’ve camped in it prior to coming in for service, I was having problems with my water pump. On the drive home from my second trip, I called General RV-Brownstown and talked to Chad Fuss. I was expecting to set up an appointment in a week or two. However, he listened intently on my description of the problem, and given that my water system (including toilet and shower) had not been usable since I bought the RV, he recognized that this was a critical use issue, and gave me an appointment for the next morning.
The next day I brought my RV to the Brownstown location. I was expecting that this issue might take some time to resolve, so I was thinking I’d be there waiting most of the day. Chad took the vehicle back, and they replaced the water pump with a Shurflo brand one, a better pump than the one installed. I was out of there by noon. Chad did a great job getting me in there quickly, diagnosing the problem, getting it fixed, and I was out of there in a couple hours. Great job to him and the whole General RV-Brownstown team.
He took an interest and followed up
The service department especially Jerry the manager and Vicki the secretary we dealt with were stellar. They communicated which to me was so important. They told us like it was. The service men know their business and hopefully all they did will hold up on our road trips and the weather. Thumbs up to all in the service department at the Orange Park, Florida.
HOWEVER;
The service departments hands were tied with getting approval for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. IT TOOK MONTHS FOR JAYCO AND OR MANAGEMENT TO APPROVE.
Imagine myself the customer that paid for a 5 year extension warranty and was promised most any flaws or problems would be taken care of and taking months to approve every little thing. One thing held up the other until approval was had. In the mean time my beautiful RV sat at Generals shop getting dirty, weathering and the pleasure vehicle we are paying almost $1,400.00 per month plus expensive insurance just sits awaiting someone to give approval. We didn’t buy this RV to sit in a holding pen. I think if we have a 5 yr. warranty (that was promised to fix most any flaws)
The decision by manufacturer should be instantly approved so parts and service schedules can be made. I feel you must speed up your service approvals if you truly want happy customers.
