Very good!
friendly ,knowledgeable, helpful stuff.
Anytime I've had a problem, I've been able to reach someone by telephone who has worked to resolve the issue in a timely fashion. I haven't taken advantage of the classes offered as much as I should, but I can certainly see that they would be helpful. Trouble is...I'm kinda busy selling real estate at the moment. :)
I've never had opportunity to recommend Main street to anyone. Its difficult for me to belong to 2 boards & pay double fees. Also this board has become too distant & cold to mbrs. It was better when bds were smaller. There's no communication now. We don't even know when a realtor has died. It feels Luke a robot bd.
I came from CAR. I was forced to take the Jump Start class even though I am a Managing Broker. Let me tell you, I am so GLAD I took the course. I loved it. You are never to old or experienced to learn something new. Great Job.
Now the room for improvement. MORe Downers Grove gravely misses an opportunity to impress it's members with it's physical appearance. I have lived in DG for 17 years. Even though I did not know who MORe was for a few years, whenever I drove by MORe, based on my historical experience, I assumed it would be closing soon just by it's appearance. As I started to take classes and test there as a member of CAR, I started to realize it was a decent organization. Don't get me wrong, it is not just location or curb appeal that turned me off. When I first walked through the front door my "red flag" sensors went off. It seems the building spaces are always in flux. Vacant units, always some kind of maintenance or remodeling construction whenever I would visit. Then it is MORe itself. What is with the choppy space? CAR has a wonderful reception area as does Inland(where I have taken some classes). When you enter MORe you don't know what the heck is going on. Why doors to the administration offices and not into the whole space. Newcomers have no idea what is going on. If you go left towards the computers and the classrooms there is no door. Oh, I must me inside MORe already. Then the education people are tucked way in the back in a horribly planned space. And then the visible unused front door in that little room. Very unimpressive and we are in the Real Estate Industry. Once I got to know MORe I was impressed, but it took a long time. Over time I became aware that CAR and Inland are not as reliable and competent as MORe. BUT, They know how to sell the "Pixy Dust!". "Smoke and Mirrors". What are we saying to our new members, when they walk into a space that makes no functional or aesthetic sense. It smells like MORe is in bed with the Property Owner/Manager. Or maybe MORe is the property owner? In that case shame on MORe for such a space. Sorry!
Good Service
The abundance of services offered, from the vast array of learning opportunities, to pro-standards, to advocacy, to networking opportunities, to forms & contracts, and fast, friendly help with questions and issues from knowledgeable staff. Having the lowest dues structure around and great leadership is nice, too.
Our association offers continuing Ed classes, they are helpful with any questions that we may have.
Direct information regarding what is important.
Prompt responses to questions.
I needed help with printing out a form and it took 4 phone calls and some persistence on my part that someone there help me by printing out a form and faxing it to me. In the first place since so many people are no longer using legal size paper the form should be made available to us on letter size. This is the first time I've contacted MORE for help with these forms and at first I was told they couldn't fax me a form. If I had not insisted they would have been glad to NOT HELP. So, no, I am not pleased with the service.
Classes being offered are in to may locations.
