1. Prompt response when emergencies occur (when my air conditioner broke a few years ago, the saleman arranged for installation for the next day before we determined the unit to install).

We had Standard Heating come out for a service call on our furnace on 1-16-13. Our technician, Nathan, was very knowledgeable and professional. As Nathan was trouble-shooting, he explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. We felt he was very honest in his assessment and would certainly have him back for future service calls. We used Standard Heating to install a furnace/AC system at our previous house and had such great service. With our current furnace problem, we knew we could rely on Standard for a superior level of service!
Left no paperwork, did not sign the sticker on furnace saying work was done.
The technician did come back and deliver paperwork and sign the sticker, but it wasted some of my time.

All the people I've dealt with are extremely friendly. Even if I've not been home when a visit was scheduled, they were very understanding.
Techs are always punctual and knowledgeable. One frustration that I do have is the fact that they are recommending that my humidifier filter be replaced each time they visit. It seems unreasonable to me that a filter would not last the entire season -- if in fact the humidifier was installed to the water source correctly.
Nathan was very informative about the problem and the cost to fix it before the work was done. Whoever scheduled the service was friendly and sympathetic to my problem.
Charge less, although I know you're competitive.

Fast and accurate.
I knew what needed to be repaired and my complaint would be that I was not given an estimate over the phone. I understand that the technician would need to confirm what the problem was, and I accept that if it was something other than what I thought that the cost could change but I was still not given a repair estimate over the phone. Within a minute of looking at my furnace the technician confirmed what I had asked for an estimate over the phone.
