I was disappointed to learn that if my event (gastric distress) required a gastroenterologist or an endoscopy, I would need to be transported to another hospital. I was told the same for a cardiac event - no cardiologist in Baylor, Scott, White, as they are primarily an OB facility?
So in the case of a true emergency I would recommend going to a hospital that serves all major medical needs.

Staff was cold (unfriendly, not empathetic, talked ill of emergency room patients in the hall). One nurse was very unprofessionally nosy asking questions unrelated to patient being in the ER like religious beliefs & cultural background. And kept asking those questions. Better bedside manner training for the staff would be helpful.

Walk in actually means walk in and be seen not walk in and be scheduled for an appointment. I was seen quickly. History taken efficiently and examination was done well. Communication with all personnel was a pleasant two way conversation. In other words they listened and cared about my opinion and wanted my input. They were all kind, courteous and thoughtful. I received excellent care.
