The pool was warm. As an older person I love to swim but could not get into the colder pools at other gyms.
The folks at the front desk always great you with a smile. The center is always clean and the walking/running track is an added bonus.
The classes and especially the trainers. If I could afford it, I would train several times a week! The HIIT and the Cardio Sculpt are my favorites after personal training.
It would be phenomenal if you would add a hip thrust machine so we can get the most out of the exercise. Also I know our Y is small and there is no room for Pilates machines but adding a class or two weekly of floor pilates with an experienced instructor would also be phenomenal. I would venture to guess it would attract new membership as Pilates seems to be rather expensive.
I have been a member for about a year and my health has improved exponentially allowing me to stop taking medication and no longer fear another stroke event. I treat my fitness care as a prescription and have great respect and gratitude for everyone around me that has contributed to my health journey.
One last comment. Out of simple respect for each other we should speak softly when discussing unsettling current events. I find it offensive to have to listen to the some of the political discourse, mainly among older white males. As a female, I want to feel safe at the YMCA.
The genuine love and care of the Richmond County Y family is immensely uplifting. When things are going good, they celebrate with you and your family. When times get tough, they hold you up, pray for you and support you and your family through it. Amazing folks!❤️🙏❤️

The instructors are excellent! I particularly enjoy Ally and Karen. Their workouts meet the needs of people at various exercise levels and Ally they have upbeat attitudes. The socialization area around the coffee pots is a pleasant area for people to meet and chat. The front desk staff is courteous, helpful and welcoming. The locker rooms are kept clean. The lady who cleans the women’s locker room works diligently. The extra activities coordinated by Jason and staff are fun. We have truly found a good place to be away from home and enjoy the opportunity to exercise our bodies snd stimulate our minds.

I like that it is a family friendly place and built on Christian morals and values. Everyone I meet is super helpful, friendly, and kind. I also like that there is a special place for members to leave prayer requests. I actually just noticed that today and I've been a member for at least 10 years now. The atmosphere is much more inviting than a traditional gym for me personally. I also really love the heated pool and the whirlpool as those are the only things I use. The heated pool is perfect for my many ailments and the whirlpool is so good for helping ease any pain that I have. The YMCA is also very good about keeping things clean which is also a very good thing. I would recommend the YMCA to anyone who is looking for a good, clean, and family oriented gym.

The warmth, kindness and compassion of employees and YMCA members. YMCA has a sauna/hot bath and general environment I love. I also got recommended to this personal trainer who will help stretch my muscles and joints because I have a severe TBI and I have most body parts tight. And before my car accident I was a math teacher and business consultant who loves talking and I found so many people to talk to.

My tour guide, Laura, took over an hour to show me all the machines I was interested in. She asked me about my goals and suggested various routines and classes. She was most professional.
Supportive staff
I play pickleball at AT Johnson and Heathesville. Now that you have opened the new covered pool I am taking advantage of I love swimming and am doing laps again after 20 years. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
