This place has some of the best service around town! The GM, service managers, and reps are TOP NOTCH. Not only are they helpful and full of knowledge, they have a genuine desire to help make your biking experience the best it can be. I would recommend them ten out of ten times!
I've been a loyal Phat Tire customer since 2013(?), beginning in Fayetteville during university when I made my first bike purchase that wasn't from Walmart. I moved to South Korea in 2019 and returned to NWA in 2022, when I resumed my relationship with Phat Tire, primarily at the Bentonville location. I appreciate that the guys at Phat Tire always take care of me and make me feel like a valued customer. In fact, this is the reason I bought my first proper bike from them in 2013, because I was treated poorly at another bike shop in Fayetteville for once making the mistake of desecrating their store and offending the snobs who worked there by daring to bring my department bike when I needed a repair.
A lot has changed in NWA and our cycling scene since then, but I can always count on Phat Tire to do their best and not rip me off, which is I'm glad I've chosen their business as the number one place to spend my discretionary income. Even though i have several brands beyond Trek that aren't stocked by Phat Tire, it's made no difference. Despite my favorite and most ridden bike being Cannondale, they've had no issues maintaining it. I know that when I want to upgrade or replace parts on my fleet of bikes (I'm up to six) that I can get them cheaper online, but I'd rather support a local business that has always taken care of me, where my small contribution makes a much greater difference than it does to Amazon.
This isn't to speak ill of other local shops, because i'm sure they also have great people and take care of their customers, but for me, Phat Tire is the best shop in the region and I can't recommend more highly.
There's a reason Phat Tire in Fayetteville is my bike shop. Mark's team are all very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Took my bike in couple of days ago and Colt did a great job, and was quick doing so. Russ always does a great job as well.
