I've had very bad luck with finding a good backpack for thru hiking. I thru-hiked the Colorado Trail as a beginner with a backpack that was too small for me, because men in outdoors stores have looked at me and assumed I'm a small -- and I still have neck issues because of it.
I finally have a backpack that fits me! It's because I had the good luck of going to Idaho Mountain Touring, and a knowledgeable woman helped me actually find the right size for my body. For outdoorsy women, it seriously makes such a difference when a woman can help us with finding the right equipment to buy, and doing the work to find it, instead of assuming what we need.

I bought an e bike and Dax initially helped us. Very helpful, flexible and low pressure. He allowed us 24 hours to think about our choice bike. We came in the following day and talked to Bill who was VERY helpful in answering all our questions. We bought the Gilselle bike and my neighbor did too. I see lots of bike rides in my future.
