I fully expected to go in and have to leave my bike in service for pickup later in the week. Instead, the amazing technician (so sorry I didn't catch his name, blond guy with a bit of a moustache) fixed my snapped gear cable on the spot so I was able to ride it out of the store.
I had two bikes I needed to get some work done on. My usual shop was booked up for weeks, so I dropped by BH, and a friendly and capable mechanic there fixed both bikes in short order. I very much appreciate it.
He was very knowledgeable and tweaked my bike without pushing anything unnecessary onto me. Great experience!

The products are great but what sets Bicycle Habitat Park Slope apart from other bike stores is the customer service.

Matt is a magician. He repositioned my seat, changed my handlebars, and made multiple other tweaks to improve my comfort and power when riding my bike. All the staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful.
The staff is professional and friendly. I recently had a bike customer tune up done. I asked them for advice on how to take my wheel off. They provided me with instructions and furthermore, a plastic bracket to prevent the brakes from locking, (free-of-charge). I always go there for my bike needs. I'm glad I bought my bike from them.

The service I experienced was excellent. I bought new accessories for my bike and was happy with the amount of knowledge the service technician and the sales team had regarding products and upgrades to my bike. I also appreciated their friendliness when talking about the various products and enjoy coming back to the shop.

In the past few weeks that I have been bike shopping, I have been to each location, Park Slope, Chelsea. Nearly everyone was super helpful and patient. 2 ppl in Park Slope were helpful in some solutions for a kids bike I just got used. Chad at the Prospect Heights location help me narrow down what I wanted and that led me to Chelsea. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and helped me find the bike that I really needed and wanted with my body and size in mind. My only issue is that it should be very clear on the Specialized site and in store that you cannot price-match every bike. The cost difference between the bike I got online and the price in store was $200+. I was shocked and disappointed that this price could not be matched. Elvis was extremely helpful in navigating this and we worked it out. I confirmed my order by phone and committed to coming back to pay for the bike in the evening. When I returned to pay for the bike and ask a few more questions about what I needed, Elvis and Matt were busy. The man who ended up helping me got the job done but when I asked additional questions about an adaptor I needed, he was short with me and had no patience for that. It was a bummer because I had a few more questions realted to securing the new bike, but could see he had no time for me. It was the most expensive thing I've purchased in a long time. In any case, I left the store with my new bike and will go back when Elvis and Matt are available with questions
