Good customer service and great bike selection!!
My second rep was very helpful (Libby, the one who finally sold me my bike), and the mechanic was nice, but it does often feel like a couple of the people who work there are doing you a favor in helping you out. Just kind of put out by the customer’s presence. And I’m an easy customer. My wife and others have had the same experience. The rep who I initially saw had a bit of an attitude. There was a ticket on a bike that I really liked, and I said, “So this one’s not available?” And he said, “Well yeah it’s got a ticket” as if it should be obvious to me. (Turns out it was available and I walked out that day without a bike. If he had gone to check I would have bought it) Then I said, “oh I can take a bike outside to test it?” And he said “I mean, yea you can’t ride it in the store” again just unpleasant and a bit snarky. Makes you not want to buy from him. It’s just close by so it’s convenient. That’s the only reason I choose this store. I would go somewhere else if I had the option. You don’t need my feedback. Just read the Google reviews.
Knowledgable and kind workers that are fun to talk with. They care about bikes a lot.
I purchased a bike that was on the rack. A price was given to me that was quoted lower then I find out that it would have been cheaper to have bought a new one
I went into Bicycle Habitat to replace a tire tube, expecting to have to come back later to pick up the bike. The friendly mechanics replaced the tube in ten minutes and I was able to leave with a fixed bike :)
The young man helping me was so sweet and helpful. I was already on a ride and needed a lock and they helped me quickly and kindly. They didn't mind that I brought my bike inside even though the store was busy. Great spot
Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable! I was able to drop off my kid’s bike and come back to pick it up when it was ready.
I placed an order online to pick up in person from Chelsea. First, Matt took my email regarding of the bike came with pedals. It did not. Matt recommended some reasonably priced pedals and made the install process very easy, and threw in a discount on top.
When I came to get the bike, Steve helped me out. He was kind, approachable and shared lots of knowledge about the bike I just purchased, as well as asking him questions about other bikes I was curious about. He also made slight adjustments for my new purchase before I rode off. He also told me to come back after I put some miles on the bike to adjust my breaks.
A great friendly NYC experience! Which is why I will always come back and send anyone who needs help with bike to Bicycle Habitat.
Great service! Talked me through selecting a lock and then installed the lock holder onto my bike.
Super efficient and quick, kind as always, and reasonable pricing!
The staff is always very happy to help with the problems I bring them, whether big or small.
Bicycle Habitat is definitely the best shop in NYC. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Their products are highly recommended and the service is always excellent.
The team that helped fix my bike was awesome - so nice and helpful. They went above and beyond.
The team is always welcoming and focused on the service I need, whether fixing a tubeless tire or performing a complete tuneup. Prices are fair and the staff is knowledgeable. My new go-to shop for my road bike and gravel bike needs.
Reliable and fast! Highly recommended…thanks J!
Staff knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
Fantastic service and great people!
Honestly I felt the staff were either borderline rude or defensive. Didn’t engender trust, I won’t be back.
Ultra honest, tried to save me money by checking the simple things first, only upgraded to issues once part failure was identified. Was thorough to check safety issues, and fit me in because I had a tight timeline. So helpful, and much appreciated
Great store and a New York institution. The staff is super friendly and they actually stick everything you want and need
Honesty, excellent workmanship, friendly.
Excellent assistance thanks
Good service.
Nice people
Kind, quick, and effective service.
Salesmen don’t seem like they enjoy their Job. I was hoping for a better experience being chucking is new but when I walked in on two different occasions. The salesmen made me feel like I didnt belong.
However there was a black guy who seemed to be a manage be was polite and looked to be the only person who enjoys what they do.
Very very fast service and happy to explain everything!
Your staff is knowledgeable and helpful
It was so refreshing to walk into an actual store and get real, educated and honest customer service. I found a bike that fit all my needs and was very confident that everyone there had my best interest in mind. May Bicycle Habitat be around as long as NYC is, best bike store in the city!!
Chris

Always friendly, do a super good job on my bike, very knowledgeable, but also listen to me (which isn't always the way bike shop folks treat women).
