Everyone is very nice
I haven't given my bicycle a check-up in over 7 years (Pretty Embarrassing) but after a recent tire blowout I was able to have my bike restored with not just a new tire but also a new cassette to have it running like new. Thank you!

Staff was very friendly and helpful with answering any questions I had.
I appreciated being able to walk in and try several bicycles. Since I am pretty short, most bikes tend to be too big for me. It was nice to be able to see it in person before making a purchase. I also liked that I could get the accessories I wanted to add right there on the spot. The fenders, phone holder, kickstand, and water bottle holder were all installed within 30 minutes. When I came back the next day for a slight adjustment, I was able to get that done very quickly.
I had a super fast appointment and the tech who helped me was helpful and clear when describing the work that needed to be done. I felt like I was in good hands and that the price was fair and transparent.

Great team of mechanics who answered my questions over the phone to help me determine if I should upgrade the drive-train or just a standard tuneup. I decided on a regular tune up and a thorough cleaning of my road bike. The service was super fast, same day after i approved the emailed quote. I picked it up the next day. The drive train was sparkling clean. The ride back home was smooth and comfortable.
My bikes have been serviced by Bicycle Habitats since 2012. First at SoHo, then at Chelsea, and at the Vanderbilt location now that I'd moved to Brooklyn.

I’ve been to a lot of NYC bike shops. Bike Habitat in Chelsea is the most dependable that I’ve found so far. The front counter is knowledgeable, the mechanics are capable and the shop is honest. Also they are quick. I was so happy during my last visit that they could remove my stuck fixed cup while I waited.
Chad and Kate were very helpful and patient as I researched/tested/bought my new Allez Sport. First road bike is a bit intimidating, but they helped me without ever making me feel dumb. Very pleased with my purchase. I also loved that Bicycle Habitat had good options in my price range, in stock. Far simpler experience than I'd expected, which counts for a lot.
As an avid cyclist, I'm not going into a bike shop to casually browse, usually, I really enjoy showing up, staff clocking that I'm looking for something and not just pointing out where it is to me, but offering a bit of insight on the thing I'm looking for, specific to the kind of rider I am.
Very easy to get service done. Walked in and waited.

I purchased the Roubaix size 64 this week. The man who sold me the bike (I forget his name) answered all of my questions and he made sure that I knew everything about the bike before rushing into the purchase. I really appreciated that, and I’m very happy with the bike. The one thing that I didn’t like was that I was charged $8 to put pedals on the new bike. I had my clipless pedals with me in the store, and after I bought the bike I asked if someone could install them for me. After spending $3500 on a bike, it was a little shocking to me that I was charged an additional $8 for such a quick and basic installation job. I would have expected something like this to be complementary especially after I had just made such a large purchase from you guys. Overall, I had a good experience in the shop, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. Just something to consider for the future

I had to drop my bike off for some unexpected maintenance and Mike the mechanic was able to fix my problem in short order as I had a trip coming up in a day and I needed my bike for the trip. I appreciated his customer service and fixing my bike accordingly! Thanks Mike!
