Less wait time for mechanics (I know this is approximately impossible these days)
you guys are all good.
Expertise in bicycles is great and staff is very approachable and helpful.
Bicycle Habitat has been my bike shop for 25 years. My favorite bike shop by a mile. Who is greater than Hal? Nobody. I've gotta say... I found this particular visit pretty excruciating and it's the first time that I ever felt like maybe I need to find a new shop. I came to drop off my son's bike for a tuneup. I waited in line outside over 15 minutes. Finally someone spoke with me and told me they couldn't take the bike. I had to schedule an appointment for drop off. OK. So, I scheduled a time. A few days later I came back. I waited in line outside for like 20 minutes. Finally someone talked to me. I told them that I had an appointment to drop off a bike. They went into the shop. Took a while. Came back out. And said they didn't see my appointment in the computer. They went back in. Took a while. Came back out. "Spell your name again?" Dude: I'm as covid-paranoid as anyone but just let me in the shop with my mask on to do this with you so I can drop off this fcking bike. I went inside. Found my appointment in the computer. Name was misspelled or something. Dropped off the bike. Basically took my entire lunch break to get that done. I came back a week later to pick up the bike. Waited outside for about 15 minutes til someone came and talked to me. Told them I was there to pickup a bike. They went back in to look for the bike. I waited another ten minutes. Got the bike. Paid $340 or so. Rode home. Expensive. But, as always, Bicycle Habitat did a great job with the bike. I have no complaints about the work. But the service was a bummer. The incredible amount of waiting time to get this appointment done... I don't know if I can do that again. I know the pandemic screwed up everything and also massively increased demand at bike shops. And space is tight in NYC. But it's been a couple of years now. And I feel like there should at least be a system that enables service personnel to check in with you faster and do some triage so people who just have a quick drop-off or pickup aren't waiting in line for 25 minutes. I think you guys have to figure this out. This might be the new normal for bike shops. Service is going to win.
You over promised and under delivered.
Very disappointing experience.
Taylor and the team were very helpful and patient, letting me test out several bikes until I found the right one. My new bike has been life-changing. Thank you!
Sales lady very helpful.
When picked up bike gentlemen was very through
Thanks Nichols for the amazing service!!!
Nice people!
really knowledgeable kind and friendly. nice policies for kids as they grow up
Great customer service. Michael and Victor and the staff are seriously attentive and professional.
lthe bike mechanic who helped me today was *amazing*. totally fixed a number of issues and so quickly!
I worked with (in order of meeting) Libby, Jon/John and Mike(self proclaimed "shorter Mike"). Each one of them took their time to talk with me, never speaking down or rushing me through questions or explanations. No matter if there was a line out of the door or no one around, they were super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm super happy I went with Bicycle Habitat :)
There is a very wide range of products available for all and the service staff are extremely knowledgeable, down to earth, professional, and all seem to love cycling in which creates a great atmosphere.
Service is just amazing! Very helpful staff! Made bicycle buying as easy as 123.
The person who help us listened and explained what he was going to look for and - when he figures out what was wrong - explained how he fixed it as well as what I should look for in the future.
Excellent timely professional and reasonably priced service.
Let people walk in soon as I enter the store I was approached like I was a gazelle to a herd of lions it was very uncomfortable feeling
Brought my ‘84 Bianchi road bike in for a tune up, got an honest assessment of the bike, no up sell, work done on time, no surprises when I picked it up, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Have ridden it twice on my trainer because the weather stinks and it’s perfect. Made a commitment to myself to bring it for service regularly.
Friendly, professional work. Great shop.
I like that the staff took the time to listen to my needs and match them with a product that was completely appropriate to my stated needs and stated price range. They also prioritized my safety and that of my infant son's which makes them a business in its own top notch class!
quick smooth
High quality products and friendly professional service. Mike in sales and Mike in repairs are both top notch!
It's unfortunately fairly simple. Even though I've bought two bikes from you and have had generally good service experience, I would be hard pressed to recommend anyone go to your shop.
Your 5th Ave store base become a fortress with confused, frustrated customers waiting in front asking what line they should be in or if they can go inside. I saw three people give up and walk away.
Sure, I remember May 2020 but haven't we all figured out a way to run a safe retail environment? I'm sure visitors would be happy to wear a mask or prove vaccination status. I've been to plenty of places where that's still the case. But wait outside? Really?
And why on earth does your 5th Ave store have to be closed on Tuesday, when none of your others are? Please, don't answer. It offers yet another barrier to your castle.
As it is, I waited for 25 minutes outside just to request a simple repair. This was my second visit because I came on a Tuesday BTW. The mechanics were totally fine and I don't blame them for the absurd difficulties you've asked your customers to endure.
Great produces and service. Fair prices.
Very helpful with bike purchase, not pushy and easy going. Will definitely recommend to friends!
Service is excellent!
Totally friendly, professional, competent, timely, and reasonably priced. I live in Brooklyn, but I will recommend my Manhattan friends travel to visit your shop.
Matt was incredibly helpful with my purchase and made my experience so easy. Would recommend Bicycle Habitat over and over again!

Great service
