Great products, and service team had me in and out
excellent customer service from start to finish! new pedals look great on my bike. Ask for Cinco, he's the man!
Bicycle Habitat is always helpful and super friendly. It’s the best bike shop in NYC!
Friendly, welcoming, polite, efficient. Biggest points for friendly.
Knowledgeable and friendly
I just felt that it was too expensive and I should’ve gone to a place that was more affordable.
You got what I need
Bike was solid. Lack of care seemingly. Would have liked to have had some friendly, more excited workers selling me a $2k bike. Now already having to spend more money to adjust a stem because sizing was not done properly. Please contact me at Email address removed and Phone number removed to remedy if possible.
Good service from the staff.
Chico and the staff were great! Helped me upgrade my tires on my single-speed to something more cushy with quality. Walked me point by point through the service, types of tires available, and discussed budget. Quick turnaround too! Long time customer here, love that it's local, and will be back!
People were helpful and knowledgeable
Communicated well about issues
I have to admit, I had a couple bad experiences years ago at the Chelsea location, and pretty much swore off Habitat. But a little while ago, I was in a pinch with a bike repair issue, and the technicians in the Park Slope location were incredibly helpful. I've since had occasion to bring my bike in a few times for work, and have been shopping at the Park Slope and Prospect stores for gear, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Super helpful, good selection, not snobby, highly recommended.
Communication, in person when entererd, by email when my bike was assessed and by text when my bike was completed.
Prompt expert service in an emergency. Thank you!
I explained my situation because it was quite dire. Being told that I could not get my old D lock cut off my bike after I purchased a new one to replace it wasn’t just disappointing, it did not resolve my problem and only created a new one, and I’m now nearly $170 in the hole.
Now I have to seek a place that can remove the old lock, but drag this bike there.
I will be going elsewhere in the future because I feel really let down.
Quick efficient service. Explanation of all work before performed.
Pretty annoying to be condescended to so rudely as a woman. Terrible service and will not return.
You're suppose to get a discount when you pay cash but I received nada.
You guys did a great job tuning up my bike, including cleaning/adjusting the hub gears (not easy to find shops that even know how to do this). Also, everyone was super helpful + friendly (hasn't always been my experience at other shops..). Thanks!
On the surface, the folks working in the service and sales department are not particularly warm. Folks are moving fast, they are asking direct questions, and clearly want to know what you need. However, after 5-10 minutes of interacting, the depth of their experince, of their helpfulness, and their love for helping people getting moving is right at the surface. I have been coming here for a few years and every time the service has exceed my expectations and has been faster than their initial time estimates. Recommend these folks over and over. Perfect local bike shop and one of the million reasons to love New York.
Fast , available and friendly
The bike mechanic was very prompt and fixed my bike while I waited. His effort and knowledge are superlative. The only issue, and it's not his fault, is that I feel like I can't win. My chain had rusted because I had not oiled them enough while my brakes were screeching because they had too much oil on them due to me not wiping the oil off. Thus, how could the chain not have enough oil while the brakes had too much? The latter proves that I lubed my chain. Or maybe it does not. I'm just really confused. Still, the mechanic was very responsive.
I called before I ordered my bike if it can be shipped to me when I ordered pick up in store. The associate called there boss and assured it can be shipped to me for free. I then ordered the bike. 2 weeks went by and I heard nothing from the company. I called and they said they couldn't ship it to me for free. It would be 120$ just to pack the bike before shipping charges. The owner had no recollection of what was previously said to me. I wasn't able to talk to him but the employees need to get on the same page because I was flat out lied too by one of the employees. They did nothing to make it right. This company has no integrity. They could have fixed THEIR mistake and just shipped me my bike, but they forced me to cancel my order. I will be steering everyone away from this company and will be recording any promises made next time. Learned my lesson.
Easy to order online and pick up, staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
I had mixed experience, 2 of the reps were pretty useless, nice but definitely knew less than me (which is not a lot) and 1 rep knew what he was doing - you should not have staff that can barely explain product specs by reading the box, the customer can do this too! we need actual assistance and insight.
Sunday afternoon the team was great--helpful, insightful, best team.
I have bought bikes since 1978 from the company
Eric was so helpful in the bike repair shop and so nice. He knew what to do and makes me want to come back for anything bike related!
The service was fast and everything was explained comprehensively

First and foremost, the staff is great, kept me informed as my bike was assembled and got it fit correctly and I was on my way in minutes. The there's the bike, a Wythe single speed, which makes me feel like a kid again. I had forgotten how much pleasure it is to ride. Thanks!
