Super shop. Was able to buy a very specific part very quickly. you can't do that online (get it quickly that is) . I mean I did check the inventory and order for pickup using their website. But I was able to pick it up on my way to grab a slice of pizza. We all need brick-and-mortar bike shops, often you need a part ASAP, and we all need pizza. Bicycle Habitat is a solid shop that has come through for me over years and years of service. they dont have pizza, but there's good pizza close by. Every time I ride up Lafeyette i still reminisce about Hal in the front of the old shop by the firehouse. Sure you never knew which Hal you might get on a particular day but who knows what was going through Hals mind on that particular day. I imagine anyone could get a little weird if you had to fix flats on some busted-up old bike all day long.
The service department is always extremely quick, helpful, and the service fantastic.
Mechanic told me I have to buy the replacement parts myself and bring it to the shop because the shop isn't an authorized dealer of the brand. I had called ahead about the exact brand and they should have told me I would have to purchase the parts from another shop.

I just bought my second new bike at Bicycle Habitat in Park Slope. The staff have always been very helpful and friendly. They listened to what kind of bike I wanted and were helpful in making a selection. I don't know very much about bikes except how to ride them. I hate changing flat tires or doing other maintenance. I found exactly what I as looking for -- a rugged and dependable Trek street bike for every day use that is still light enough and fast enough to make riding enjyable. There was no pressure or upsell. I highly recommned this store
