Staff is friendly & store is well-run. Because of the volume the shop deals with, often feels a bit less of a personal touch and prioritizing efficiency over things that feel like a local bike shop (relative to some of the others in the area, not a hypothetical perfect shop). As such, I would be more likely to walk-in for accessories than to buy a bike/obtain service

I love the personalized support and maintenance Bicycle Habitat has provided my family and me over the last decade. Consistent, professional service. They always go above and beyond, and guarantee their work. Just brought in my old daily commuter bike the other day and they have it riding like new. The tech did a bunch of extras at no charge to make sure the bike was safe and riding smoothly. Excellent service!
I walked in looking for cycling shoes to pair with my new clipless pedals. I come from the running world where I know everything about all of the different shoe types and uses, but for cycling I knew nothing other than what style of cleat I needed. I was greeted by Justine who did an exceptional job answering all of my questions and getting me out the door with new shoes and cleats. Not only was she exceptionally kind to me, but she offered my girlfriend a seat and chatted with her while I was trying on shoes. I am very happy I stopped by this location and will continue to give Bicycle Habitat my business.

Diagnosis was quick and educational. The service tech explained and demonstrated what possible root causes were NOT causing the issue and then showed me what was the root cause. The amount of time to fix the problem (blown back tire) was minimal. Thanks for your help!

Very friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to. They are patient with people who are still learning about bicycle components / repairs. Help me find what I need and charge fair prices. When their repairs were not full quality (e.g. they missed a rim tape issue when fixing a flat tube issue, leading to a new flat as soon as I got the bike home), they have made it right by fixing the issue with no additional charges. Very grateful to have them as a neighborhood bike shop in Chelsea.
