How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I have LOVED Zerorez in the past but I was not happy with my service tech at all!
1. I purchased 3 areas to be serviced, he said, "I will do these two and count your 3 stairs as the 3rd area" when I told him I had a small room upstairs for my 3rd area and he could charge me for the 3 stairs he laughed and said "no, it’s ok, I will just do this." Ummmm... really!
2. I moved all of my furniture except two that could easily have been slid out of the way, one is a old fashion school desk, not big or heavy at all, he went around it and not under it, and you can see under it!
3. My floors typically dry rather quickly with Zerorez, one of the reasons I love you, but my floors were damp to the touch for a full 3 days after service. That has never happened. I could not return my furnishings back to where they belonged until they were dry.
4. My tech appeared to be rushed. He tried to up sell me on my vents and air filter, I declined but thanked him for the information. He did not say anything else to me after that. I had to ask HIM if he would add the scotch guard (or whatever it is you call it) to my floors... he did not offer it. $40 per area is a big up sell, why would you not offer it?
5. I pointed out a spot that I had and told him I was not sure what it was, he told me unless I knew if it was grease, blood, pet stain, (or he mentioned a few other specific issues) that he could not get it out. Should I get my spots analyzed prior to service for future spot removal? The area looks better after he cleaned it but it appears to be coming back to the surface.
Overall, I like how my carpets feel and look after a cleaning. I just did not like your tech.

I am hoping there is less soap-type product left in the carpet although I'm not sure if there is a way to know that for sure. I guess your advertizing convinced us to try you.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

When I called to make an appointment I was quoted the price of $139,95. Your technician complained that the size of my family room was too big and would cost more and was too much work. The room is 12X20, which is over the 200 square foot quote however the dining area was about 10X12 which was under the the quote limit and connected to the family room. It should have equalled out. After the add ons my bill was up to $350 including pet sprays. I was ok with the pet sprays but really did it cost that much. On your advertisement it stated that the carpet would dry quickly. The technician told me it would take 4 to 6 hours to dry...And he was correct, it took 6 hrs. To me that is not fast drying. There are big yellow stains on my stairs leading down to the basement. I recieved sales pitches from vent cleaning to portable air filtrations and I felt pressured into making an appointment to have my vents cleaned..which I will cancel.

How did we disappoint you and what can we do to make things right?

I paid extra for the pet service and I can smell urine coming from the carpet. I can even smell it upstairs coming from the downstairs carpet. The cleaner said the pet service would kill that smell and the bacteria. I'm frustrated that I paid extra and still have that problem. Also, there were a couple stains that were still on our carpet that the cleaner said had been removed. And our carpet remained wet much longer than I anticipated.

We would have appreciated more information on the additional costs beyond the offered special. We don't feel the small attached closets should be treated as separate areas.

What could we do to improve?

Carpets looked great except around the edges - such as where my carpet met the vinyl in my kitchen and bathrooms. Had to take my Bissell and do the edges. Not very happy about that when I just wrote a check for over $200.00 Technician was very polite and professional. I would recommend stressing the edges - it was difficult to tell until the carpet dried or I would have requested that he re-clean.

For almost $300 to clean 2 couches of pet urine, we expected not to still smell the urine a week later. We would still be embarassed to have guests come over and sit in the couches. We also did not know that cost for cleaning pet smells doubled the cost of the cleaning. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

While I was very pleased with the cleaning of my carpets, I would like to note some differences between having my Draper house carpets cleaned and having my Scottsdale AZ condo carpets cleaned by Phoenix Zerorez the week prior. In Scottsdale the technician did a walk-through with me when he was finished, offered booties to me and my husband to use until the carpets were dry, and told me the estimated time for them to thoroughly dry. None of these things happened with the Draper cleaning. I asked for booties and they were given to me, but not offered initially.

My carpet almost looked brand new which is quite a feat considering we have a family of six and the carpet is light beige and twelve years old. The technician was very pleasant and courteous and obviously good at his job.

What could we do to improve?

Your website states that "the ZEROREZ® cleaning system does not use soaps, harsh detergents or shampoos to clean, but uses instead a revolutionary, GREEN, non-toxic water-based cleaning agent as its cleaning fluid, called Empowered Water™". However, your website never states what is actually in this empowered water and what makes it so special. Personally, I would like to see that information.

I had my carpets cleaned by David Palacios from your Salt Lake office. Having been an employer myself, I thought you might appreciate my reaction to his service.

First, the carpets look good, but the real test will be in a few weeks to see if spots and dirt quickly reappear.

I took advantage of your $59 three-area special. When I called to book the appointment, I also requested cleaning of my stairs. I was quoted a total of $144. I knew full-well that I would spend a lot more than that. Turns out it came to $422. I didn't expect that much.

I did not like the manner in which David sold your services. His phone kept ringing while he talked. He didn't answer any calls, but looked at the phone every time. This disrupted his train of thought and he repeated himself over and over. That was annoying.

I did not like having to look at his phone to see the estimate. The software program on his smartphone doesn't describe the rooms and areas in my home using my words, so I was not sure what I was looking at. A handwritten estimate would have been preferable. I had to add the numbers in my head and hope we were both on the same page. I have received the paperwork by email, but would have preferred to see something in writing before hand. For example, David quoted me $20 for a 3 x 3 landing. I told him that was too much. When the email came in, I see he charged me $25 for the landing. Ridiculous!

I HATE the "I'll take care of you and give you a good deal" approach. I wasn't born yesterday. You're not really giving anything away. I would much prefer being quoted the bottom-line price the first time, instead of the "if you do this, I'll give you a 40% discount," or "I'll throw that in if you buy this and such."

I also found the "up to 200 square feet per area" to be deceiving and frankly unfair. One tiny bedroom (maybe 60 square feet that were cleaned) counted as one of my three areas. But to have about half of my living room cleaned, I had to pay $45 plus $30 for a "hall" (which was actually part of the living room). Not any one of my three areas had anywhere near 200 square feet. It would have been much more fair to actually measure the rooms and let me decide which were the three areas for $59 (which, by the way, your software program quotes as $60), and give me a per-square-foot price for the additional areas.

And David gave me the craziest story about sales tax. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I didn't have to pay tax on your service, but he said that was because I already paid sales tax on the house when I bought it! He charged $2.05 tax for cleaning the three runners because they weren't part of the house.

David put plastic protectors around the corners to guard against baseboard damage from the hoses. That was appreciated. But he wasn't careful with his hose. Since he works backwards, he didn't watch the end of the hose behind him. I walked into one room just as the back of his hose knocked an antique porcelain lamp onto the floor. Fortunately, it didn't break. He also allowed the back of his hose to whip around and knock several stems off of house plants.

Finally, when he left I was surprised to see his truck in the driveway. Quoting the email I received to confirm the appointment: "5. Have an open parking space (and not in your driveway) as close to your front door or main access door as possible."
The worst part was, one tire was parked on the lawn. That left a big indentation in the damp sod.

So there you have it. Will I use your service again? Probably not.

My carpet looks fantastic! I was very pleased that the technician arrived earlier than the time indicated. The cleaning was completed quickly, but thoroughly. Spots in the carpet were removed that I didn't think possible. Thank you very much!
