Friendly atmosphere
Variety of exercise classes at convenient times. Great instructors who make the classes fun and challenging. New facility is wonderful.
Easy access with handicap parking in front. Location is a short drive from my home.
I like that this is a gym for everyone. All ages and individuals of different fitness levels come here. The staff is friendly and courteous and friendly. Typically, there is not a long wait, if any, to use a machine here.
Location is great, equipment need to be updated and it needs a free weight training space ( kettlebells, trx, bike and tower in one area)
for the O street location, needs a lot more of cleaning solution bottles placed all over gym in the mid areas as well, (the 70th A location has ALOT of cleaning solution bottles placed all over the gym, esp by the weights, and they also have staff with masks that clean the machine as well), At the O street location, there only a few bottles, maybe 5 spots for the entire gym. No staff clean the weights, some staff wear a mask only occasionally, NO TEMPS are being taken now.. COVID is not over , we still have cases daily, so not taking temps anymore doesn't make me at least feel any better. I have (at the O st location), staff leave for a minute to vape or whatever then come back in.
One more free weight squat rack would be nice
Whirlpool full of foam and side tiles had soil, pretty gross
Precautions for health safety.
It is an old building
You have a so-called "mask mandate" being enforced by your manager Brandon at the Boardwalk location who doesn't abide by it himself. Whenever I see him at his desk, he has it either off or below his nose. I think the whole mask thing is ridiculous. If you can smell anything with a mask on it's not working. The virus is smaller than any other airborne particle. So masks are mostly worthless. And taking someone's temperature every time they come in doesn't mean much, either. You can have COVID and not have a temp.
Also, in both clubs, you have signs up to report people not following the mask mandate by a phone number on the signs. No other establishment I have entered has signs like that. It feels like Nazi Germany....Report anyone who steps out of line so we can kick them out or maybe have them arrested, who knows. I thought we lived in a free country!!
Another thing, at your Boardwalk club, you were shut down for about 2 months between last March and May. The place has a dirty smell, and it's because the carpets are filthy; visible stains everywhere and the men's bathroom always smells like a sewer backup. If you're so concerned about cleanliness in the age of the corona virus, wouldn't you at least clean the carpets?
Advertise no membership fee but charge a processing fee. One of the same
There is no concerns you have wet sauna that is broke more than works. When it is supposedly works its not good.
Too many people sitting on weight lifting equipment on cell phones.
Weekend hours past 6pm
I've been a member since the 80's and can't imagine going anywhere else. Exciting to see the new renovations being planned. Like the instructors in all of the classes I've taken through the years~~
To difficult to get Tennis Court Time unless you're part of a Group
Its clean and inviting
I haven't been to the gym for almost a year because of the pandemic. Otherwise, I am a gym nut. I go 5 or 6 times a week and have since Cass opened as 24 Hr Fitness. The last time I was at Cass the Men's locker room needed some work.
I like how clean your staff keeps everything to help keep us safe. I like how friendly everyone is while I am in and when I walk in, usually early in the morning and still half asleep. I like that the hot tub, sauna, and steam rooms are open to help with workout recovery and just to soothe aches and pains.
I really appreciate the efforts everyone on the staff make to make me feel welcome. All the wonderful people who work at the front desk, and I don't even know all of them by name, do a great job remembering our names and making convérsation, when there is time, of course. I wish I could thank everyone here by name but I just don't know them all.
If this feedback gets back to them, please let everyone on the staff how great a job they all do cleaning up after us and for our safety, how friendly and pleasant all the people who check us in and who are working with all of us are and just how nice it is to be able to come to a place where we are welcomed and we can see the smiles on their faces even under these masks. I appreciate everything you and your staff do to make this a fun, safe, friendly and clean place for me to work on my health and fitness goals every day.
I almost don't want to bring up one potential challenge or opportunity for improvement but there have been some issues with the hot tub like it being closed for a day or two at a time,.jet issues, weird smells and cloudy water. I am not sure if 5hese things relate to its age or maintenance schedule but I make the hot tub a part of my daily routine and have learned to check to see whether it is working and how it looks/smells before getting ready to use it. It seems like there are issues almost weekly. Again, I really appreciate so much and the fact it is open so it is a bit disconcerting when it isn't. I can deal with a bit of murky or smelly water due to cleanliness because I always shower after (and rinse off before) but I hate when we can't use it.
Thank you again, for everything, and for caring enough to ask what our thoughts are. I appreciate everyone on staff at your club that makes so much effort to keep us safe, healthy, and welcomed.
Genesis is a great place to workout. It has all the equipment I could ever need, friendly staff, great trainers, and is kept clean. Genesis also has a pool, hot tub, and sauna among other benefits.
everything
Friendly employees always ready to help. Facilities are clean.
I like the tennis programs and personal training programs. The group classes are good too.
Basketball court. Pool. Gym.
The club is run down and needs updating.
Clean, big, new, lots of options, great club.
A couple things first there’s always dirty towels laying on the floor of the men’s locker room and second there seems never to be any empty lockers people were supposed to remove stuff at the end of the day I think people have stuff in there for months
I have alway loved the group fitness classes. But with Covid I have discovered tennis. It is a very safe way to exercise and have fun. I absolutely love the coaches and their creative ways of training our group. The Ladies Night Out was an exciting way to meet new people and get a great workout at the same time.
I'm continually amazed that cannot get your air conditioning fixed already this year pretty early and it has been really hot in there. I think the air conditioning has not worked well in the two-and-a-half years that I've been in a member
The facility is clean, the equipment is great for everyone whether it be cardio, weights or group classes and the staff is friendly.
The hours and the trainers.
