Patiently waiting on the proposed makeover of Hickman club. What is your timeline.
Cleanliness of the facility, bathrooms and showers especially …. Bigger towels……Hot tub not out of order…
Pool continues to be in mediocre condition, black algae on the pool bottom, murky water, hair balls floating everywhere and COLD temperature. I understand trying to save some money on the pool heater, but since the outdoor pool is , as of late, realistically open 3 months a year, it is important to have an enjoyable experience for that 1/4 of the year.
The cafe also remains to unimpress with quality of food, not having the food that is on the menu, and slow service.
The bathrooms are also not in great shape with maintenance needed.
Add a water bottle fountain at the O st location.
Staff, various classes. I like water aerobics
Overwhelmingly, the lack of air-conditioning in the gym and cycling is a longstanding problem. The minimal use of fans is hard to understand.
The instructors continue to be great!
Has a lots to offer in regard to equipment to use and different typesof classes
Can you please create an app and update the website. So outdated and UX/UI is infuriating.
Staff are AMAZING though. 10/10 for the great employees that work at the Ballpark Village location in STL, MO and the gym is always clean.
Previous suggestions ignored so maybe being more blunt is warranted. No information on when the place will have better housekeeping or when things will be fixed and better maintained. Cardio equipment is filthy and broken equipment are not fixed in any timely manner. Men's shower area should be a huge embarrassment to the management/ownership. Half the showers don't work or are even plumbed with shower heads. Soap dispensers are not maintained with liquids. In good faith, I could never refer this facility to anyone I respected.
The large space, amount of equipment, and very friendly child care staff
Too crowded. No parking and treadmills are full during peak hours.
Management has been disciplining individuals that do not follow the stated rules throughout the facility. Specific examples I have witnessed are as follows: 1) someone was taking group photos in the Men's locker room; an individual was walking in the swimming pool and spitting on the walking area, someone didn't their clean equipment after use, etc. Some of these actions described could cause potential health issues. I know the men's locker room; pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna areas; and the exercise areas are kept clean as I have witnessed the cleaning process of the cleaning crew. These areas have the highest volume of patrons and should receive the type of cleaning that is being done.
The above reasons are why I like my Tara Plaza Genesis Health Club.
Especially like the greeters at the front door every morning. Margo and Siera. Are always encouraging and fun.
Close and friendly. With all I need for good workout
The gym overall gives off the feel of a “bro” gym. It’s not clean and no one sprays down their equipment after use. Not because they’re unwilling but because there’s only a few cleaning bottles and half the time they don’t work. The locker rooms are consistently gross from trash and nasty toilets. Lastly, I hate that every bench is bolted down. It’s the epitome of a “bro” gym and I see how it could scare away females or new members. Of the Genesis gyms I go to I’d put it last(3rd) with Westroads at the top and Askarben in second.
Clean the tennis courts and tennis area more frequently.
The facility and the equipment has some wear and tear. I hear you're starting to make improvements, which can't come soon enough.
A large portion of the equipment is in need of repair. If a machine is broken it takes multiple weeks before it’s fixed. It’s always hot and humid in the gym and to combat the heat and humidity a single box fan is placed near the entrance. The gym is filled with people and machines/weights require long wait times.
The gym just isn’t conducive to being able to workout. It’s clear the objective is to fill the gym with as many members as possible, but without proper anticipation of the need of more equipment.
basketball court
Good equipment
The upkeep.
Things need replaced.
Pool noodles for water aerobics are gross, locker rooms are outdated.
Equipment is broke
Repair broken chairs around pool. Daily inspection of chairs for future repairs
I’m able to reserve swim lanes for lap swimming, the club is clean, members and staff friendly.
Variety of classes
My home club was Centerra in Loveland, CO, which was five minutes from my home, before it closed in late January, with little notice to members or employees. I had been going to that club for years and established a "spin and body pump family."
Centerra was a small club, unlike South, Fort Collins Club, or North, which is what made it so special. Members knew each other because of the family-like atmosphere. The group instructors for spin and body pump had been there for years and helped to foster "family." Many members quit Genesis after Centerra closed.
I chose to stay on and am now traveling 3X the distance to get to South. The only reason I stay at Genesis is because of Kris Laine, one of the most outstanding spin instructors I've ever had the pleasure to ride and train with. I'm also doing her Ultimate Upper Body class, which is amazing.
Today, I went to South for a 9:15 AM spin class and found that MyZone wasn't working on the TV screen and there wasn't a clean towel to be found in the facility. I went to the front desk to ask about clean towels for the spin room. I was told that something was wrong with the dryer and they didn't have any. I then asked about getting someone to help with fixing the TV for MyZone to come up. They couldn't help with that either.
When the instructor arrived, the front desk told him that there was a problem with the MyZone coming up on the TV. He asked if Stacy Spellberg, the regional group fitness manager, was in the facility to assist. He was told she wasn't in yet, but that she would come into the spin room to fix the screen during class. She never came by.
To make matters worse, I had a complimentary massage on my account in addition to one that had been given to me by Molly, the sales manager, when Centerra closed. I hadn't used it yet because, at the time, there was no woman massage therapist, which is a big requirement for me. One has since been hired, but I haven't had a chance to schedule an appointment, as I'm unable to go during the week. I work from home and the club is too far away. My weekends are busy, and I have to make special arrangements to come in for a massage.
I asked Dakota, the front desk manager, why the massage was removed from my account. She said she would check into it and get back to me. She never did. I was in the club a week later and asked about it again. She said she was waiting for corporate to get back to her and that she would check on it again and call me. I have yet to hear back from her and that was weeks ago.
This is ridiculous! When I went to Centerra, I was at the gym five to six days a week. Now that I go to South, which is the closest gym to where I live, I can only make it to the club two to three times a week. I pay good money to be a member and don't understand why clean towels aren't available or why someone on staff isn't available to fix a TV for MyZone to work during a spin class.
One way Genesis can make this right is by putting the complimentary massage back on my account so I can use it. As for the other items, it's up to Genesis leadership to decide what they want to do to make the club experience better.
I will wait to hear back from Genesis on next steps.
Thank you.

Friendly staff, professional and helpful tennis staff, appreciate the work done to keep the equipment in top notch shape.
It's taking FOREVER for the remodel at the Lincoln Raquet Club location to be completed.
Everyone is welcome and not judged based on your fitness level. The class instructors are so positive and encouraging!
The staff is very friendly and the club is kept extremely clean. The variety of equipment is excellent.
One suggestion that would make the club even better is if members received 3 hours of parking instead of just 2. I work out in the mornings usually and 2 hours is just not long enough to get a great workout in, shower and dress. Thank you :-)
Great teachers, lots of class times and options
